Meta,

Forgive me for not paying attention to your outstanding franchise. I will say that I DID KNOW Miller signed with Seattle. I was questioning why the Raiduhs didn't pursue him harder. I know they saved tons of money by signig Boss, but miller is a top TE in the league IMO
No need for the sarcastic attitude, I really wasn't trying to be condescending, my bad if it came out that way. The raiders wanted miller, they just weren't willing to pay as much as Seattle, it is what it is.

Great news that Bush is back......and I'm actually OK with DMC being injured in the preseason just so Taiwan can be given some more touches. I've been hearing about Ranking & Cartwright getting touches but not Taiwan Jones, and I know those are 2 vets over a rookie but it still got me scratchin my head

Raiders sign wash up WR, Chad Jackson.
He crushed the hands competition back in the days in 2006.

New England Patriots (2006–2007)
Denver Broncos (2008–2009)
Buffalo Bills (2010)* Practice Squad
Omaha Nighthawks (2011)* Practice Squad
Oakland Raiders (2011–present)

I guess we need depth at WR with Murphy, Ford and the undrafted rookie tearing his achilles.

lol... It's pretty simple Esco - Cable pulled a move on us. He did it on purpose and sold the Seahawks on giving him a crazy contract that the Raiders couldn't match. No way Al wanted to let Zach go. But his hands were tied and Cable knew it.

Cable and Al have flat out beef. Add him to the list of Shannahan and the others that will leave the Raiders on bad terms and end up successful.

Miller is a top 5 TE in the league and it's a loss, no question about it. But, signing Boss goes along way to negate it.

bottom line Al couldnt afford to match what seattle offered.

Al was working with feelings. Don't yall remember Miller saying he wasn't going to be happy if Cable left and that would definately affect his decision about reigning? It was something to that effect.

Only Al would go after Chad Johnson and end up with Chad Jackson.

Damn it Al, you senile old goat, that’s not Ochocinco!

Raiders CB Stanford Routt has restructured his three-year, $31.5 million contract.
With the Raiders over the salary cap, Routt reallocated "the majority" of his $10 million 2011 base salary into a roster bonus. As payback, the Raiders added two years to his deal and bumped its total value to an incredible $54.5 million. It's unclear if new guaranteed money was added to the contract, but Stanford Routt is now the NFL's third highest paid cornerback. Yes, Stanford Routt.

Routt is overpaid, there's no doubt about that... I don't think he's terrible, playing opposite of Nnamdi is a really tough job, but he hasn't done enough to warrant that type of money

with that being said, I just hope he proves us all wrong this season. only time will tell

Stanford Routt is the 3rd highest paid corner in the league?...That hurts..Thats way to much money for a average corner...

Routt sucks man..I dont know what the front office was thinking...we should have went and got Jonothan Joseph for that loot...

like someone said if the gaurantee money is the same then the rest was to just push off money from this year. more than likely he will restructure again before next year and get less money in the long run so its all good

I'm pretty sure the guaranteed money is the same. so now it's 20 mil stretched out over 5 years instead of 3 years. if we end up having to cut routt, that will help us immensely with the cap. on the other hand, if routt plays well, then we just locked him up on the cheap in the long run. you have to remember that soon teams will be forced to spend 95% of the cap. so contracts will be getting bigger.
