Dang, this whole New Bay thing is drama from all sides....people are hitting me up about this...maybe I won't call the article "The New Bay". I will call it "The New Bay?". LOL. I don't get why it's so touchy...to the rest of the world, it looks like a solid movement...

Folks just arent ready for anything new and just dont understand the movement. By saying New bay its not like they are taking sides, they are just taking this bay music to a whole other level and if folks aint ready for it thats they're bad!
Believe me we will see where this goes, and like I always say how can they be so called hating on the pioneers that came before them if thats who they learnin from. All artists should learn from experience good or bad. They are taking that and growing and doin a good job at it. Folks need to just deal with it.
K Hustle you name your article what you want to name it. Dont have nobodys negitive views try to detur you from what you originally set out to do.
Do ya thang and thanks for supporting the New Bay!
It is a solid movement one that has folks supporting world wide
Folks need to wake up and learn something
Peace P

You are on the wrong board askin about the New Bay. Try the forum for it on www.raptalk.net and see what's going on. I know Left, Locksmith, Balance and other artist are on there all the time.
What I have noticed is that everybody wants a New Bay, but they just don't want to say New Bay. The whole On The Block Show is full of new bay area artist trying to get on and be heard. The most noise made this year in the bay was by The Federation, The Frontline, The Team and Turf Talk. 40 did what he does and of course Mac Dre was doin it big till he was murdered (r.i.p.), but the story of the year was all of these new artist from the bay. even on the R&B end of things Kesha Cole, Latoya London and Goaple...all new emerging bay area artist. Sorry, but the rest of the country wants to hear something new from the Bay and that is why they are getting the press in all of these magz and websites I have seen them in or on. There is enough room for everyone, but here is a strong need for NEW in the BAY. Breath on it.

I feel what you are saying. I am investigating all of this in preparation for my article. I have scheduled interviews with both the Frontline and The Federation...and there will be more. I will get the aspects of all those making noise on the Bay Area scene. The Bay needs exposure...it has been regional long enough...and all the arguments about new bay, old bay, and the in-between bay seem kinda petty for a region that has yet to have a platinum artist hail from it. E-40 has made the most moves, yet he is still considered "regional" in the grand scheme of things. The hate across the country in cities that are struggling to truly get on the map is the cancer that poisons progress. I am not buying into it. The point of this article is to give the bay sound some exposure. I hope the political drama can be bypassed so the Bay Area rap fans of the PHX can become privy to the newer sound of the area. Respect to all those who came before and continue to deliver...but you can't stop stars from shining with rhetoric. You and I both know that.
