The New Bay(?) Article

I am writing an article on the phenom known as The New Bay. As a reader and as Bay Area rap fans, what do you feel should be covered?

I have trying to get interviews with The Federation, Frontline, Keak da Sneak, and The TEAM. I want to feature these four artists/groups. I have some contact info on them and am reaching out now. Anyone who knows these people personally, drop it in their ear that I am tryin' to holla...

The 2-page "The New Bay" spread will be featured in the mag I write for out of Phoenix called XPOZ...15,000 circulation.

How do you want your region represented to outsiders?

Left from Frontline is on the Siccness and on RapTalk. Also for the New Bay, you should get BALANCE, I think he's the one who started it or one of the main people who started it. He's also on here and on RapTalk.

I will be sure to let them know to check out this post and hit you up if they are interested. Balance is also good to contact on that forum as well. You can also email them at [email protected]

good shit sarg. I'd receomend tryint to get ea ski in it too since he is a bay rap pioneer working with the new bay. it would be cool to see what he says about it since a few rappers are taking offense to it.

well, messy i heard took offense, thinking it was disrespecting the old bay. but the luniz took the most offense. if you check out that new song numskull has about the game, in the end he says "fuck the frontline"

its off a mixtape, but cant rmember the name. it was posted about a week ago, you could do a search and find it

I don't see how taking offense to a fresh movement makes a whole lot of sense...it makes people look insecure from the outside looking in. There might be more to it than that...but I will always have love for the classic Bay Area MC's that have held it down over the years. But it's not '95 anymore...it's ok to grow, expand and pass the torch to the younger generation...it's the way of the game. I am interested in hearing more about this from both sides though. When Bubba Sparxx got his New South tattoo, I didn't see Outkast getting pissed...maybe cuz they weren't threatend?

i think u should include the opinions of the luniz and messy to make it a more balanced article instead of just glorifying the new bay thing u can also say that not everyone in the region agree with it to make it a more interesting read

@P, I got it and replied

@ they, no doubt...that is why I am doing all this research...I want to get the vibe of the streets and the artists and whatnot. At first glance, I do think it's silly though. And the article is about the New Bay movement, not all the drama betwonxt the artists...that is the last thing we need to hype. An area like the Bay has never cracked the way it should...a lil' unity across the board wouldn't hurt. But yes, I will reference this.
