Anyone see this movie?

Movie is crazy...great direction, story, acting and it was twisted as fuck. Two thumbs up from 2-0-Sixx.

Christian Bale was skinny as fuck, he lost over a third of his weight in order to play the role. He looked like a Jew from WWII. I heard less than 6 months later he filmed batman. Gained 150+ pounds. That's insane.

If, the fags at Blockbuster can keep the 3 copies they have in-stock. I'll give it a rent; I wanted to see it when it was on the BIG SCREEN never got around to it. I never herd anybody speak on it so I thought it must be lame. I'll let yall know what I thought after I peep.

I just watched it today, I liked it a lot. It's fucking crazy how skinny Bale is.

Spoiler:
One thing I didn't understand though, was the connection between Nicholas and Ivan. I know Ivan was Nicholas, but I didn't really understand why he was so much older. Is it supposed to be how Reznik imagines Nicholas to look like when he's grown up? And like, he has the toe-fingers because of the accident?

^Reznik was Ivan is what I interpreted.
That's what I thought at first, but then they did the flashback part to when Reznik ran over Nicholas and then he started saying 'I know who you are!' to Ivan, which I thought implied that Ivan was Nicholas... I'm gonna watch it again tomorow and see if I can catch anything I missed.

SPOILER
My thoughts:
What’s a trip is at the end when he sees himself driving the car and the hit and run scene. The time was 1:30. All throughout the movie he constantly looks at the clock, it’s always 1:30. So, when he did hit the kid it was 1:30, when he talks to the waitress (the mom), it’s always 1:30. He never actually knew her. The extreme guilt he felt led to his insomnia which in turn led to his insanity and Ivan was just a distorted version of himself (because of the guilt he viewed himself as a monster). @B-Buzz, I'm pretty sure the kid died, so Ivan couldnt have been the kid.

I just d/l the film and burned it to DVD so I’m going to watch it again to see shit that I’m sure I missed.

@2-0-Sixx

I remember you recommending (I believe) Donnie Darko and I LOVE that movie. Can you recommend anymore psychologically complex movies I would like since I like that and The Machinist?

Heres part of a Q&A with the director:

Q: I'm inhibited about asking a couple questions that in some way might merely refer to what happens at the end of the movie. But I think I'm safe with this one; keeping it ambiguous. Did Reznik in his past ever really know someone like Ivan?

ANDERSON: I'll put it this way, Reznik hangs out with him and Ivan is in some ways trying to lead him in the right direction. He's sort of trying to goad him into remembering. You can't run away from something because it will catch up with you.

Obviously, Pi, if you haven’t seen it already. Oh, “Primer” is a new one that tripped me out a few weeks ago. I think I need to watch that one about 3 or 4 more times with a notepad in hand.
I havent really been keepin up with movies the last year or two so I'm probably not the best on to ask.
