Steve Nash records 10,000th-career assist

Steve Nash recorded his 10,000th assist of his career on Tuesday night as the Lakers battled the Rockets in Houston.

With 29.1 seconds left in the half, Nash dished to veteran forward Antawn Jamison for a jumper. The Lakers, playing as underdogs without Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill, took a 62-59 lead into the half over the Rockets.

Only four other NBA players have hit the mark: Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Mark Jackson.

Nash is midway through his 17th season. He played for both the Phoenix Suns (where he earned two NBA MVP awards) and the Dallas Mavericks before joining the Lakers.

In addition to his career average of 8.6 assists a game, Nash is a tremendous shooter at 49.1% from the field, 42.8% from three and 90.4% from the line on his career.

Heading into the game against the Rockets, Nash has shot 52.9% from the field and 40.9% from three for the Lakers. He's yet to miss a free throw.
Damn another Laker great, this shit never gets old. Lakers fans are spoiled when it comes to all the greats who put on that purple and gold. LAKERS>>NBA
