is there anyone out there, besides me, that is anticipating this album? will it be better than their first? i think the single 'when you were young' is great and i think this album will be better than Hot Fuss....

yea, October 3rd is right^^

i like them cuz they arent punk rock and they arent rock and roll, its somethin a little different like Coldplay.....im surprised this hasnt been leaked to the web yet....

Damn did you just liken The Killers to Coldplay? I can't stand Coldplay lol. But I know what you meant. I like them (The Killers) because they are kind of like a 80's throwback band. Plus Brandon Flowers has a great voice IMO. Funny enough I still to this day hate their lead single from Hot Fuss though.

yea^^ the lead single wasnt that great, but i still think that hot fuss was one of the best of 2004, they had about 8 possible radio singles on that album and i think they released 4 to radio play.....but yea i kinda compared them cuz they are both a little different, and use different instruments and melodies in their songs, thats all....

Alright I picked it up on Monday night at midnight and I have to say that this album is well beyond my expectations. I think I like this better then Hot Fuss which I think is a great fucking album. This isn't an album where you are going to be like that was some amazing guitar work or the drummer is one of the best...The Killers aren't that type of band. What they do though, and do very well, is make very catchy, feel good songs (for the most part) that sound like a throw back to the 80's style of music but it's fresh and not a knock off at the same time.

There is only one song I don't care for much on the whole album and it's not that bad...but some of my favorites are;

When You Were Young (great lead single)
For Reasons Unknown
Uncle Jonny (Great fucking song...my favorite on the album right now)
My List

The only negative thing about the album is not counting the Enterlude and Exitlude the album is only 10 songs long. But it's four great songs, five really good songs and one okay song...which is good enough for me.

8.5 out of 10

i almost want to say they sound reminiscent of U2 on some songs.....especially on track 4. Bling (Confessions Of A King)

I bought it and listened to it all weekend. I dig it, its a solid piece of work. That last track doesn't do it for me but it will probably get better the more I listen. Still recommended.
