You think listening to someone brag about how much money he has for 15 tracks is entertainment? It stopped being entertaining a very long time ago.
I agree the shit is BORING AS FUCK. How long are we supposed to be facinated by people sticking to one subject? And why should I give a fuck about how much money another man has?

Good for you homie... now I'm gonna keep focusing on the reality of my day to day existence

The exception is when artists are actually dropping game on how to get money instead of just talking about HAVING it. E-40, Laroo and others got my respect because their songs about ballin are laced with stories and pearls of wisdom.

let us give the guy a chance, but i seriously doubt I'll hear back from him. And that mansion in the video is nice, but those are pretty easy to rent for a week too.

id be interested in spending a day or two with AP to see if its all really real, and if he proves me wrong i'll reimburse him for half of what he spends , deal?
This seems fair. What do you have to lose AP9 @AP9 ?

Agreed.

"Sometimes it's cool to floss
But don't buy an eighty-five thousand dollar car
Before you buy a house"

I remember when I heard this line when I was like 12 years old and it has stuck with me since.

Seem like the West always got it out for its artist. If your a fan it shouldn't matter what the artist drive, lives,or do. Fans listen to the music and think they know these artist in real life. There's entertainment and there's real life.
It's because most rap fans want to fit in whether they admit it or not. So if you like the music by a particular rapper but everyone is clowning on him, you're going to feel insecure about listening to the music because you yourself don't want to be ridiculed.

And rappers play up these extravagant lifestyles because it's what all the other rappers are doing and they want to be financially successful by any means. You won't sell music to these fans being humble when to them the amount of money you spent on a car determines your value as a human being.

Thats why underground is where its at. I'll bump some mainstream artist from time to time if I feel like being entertained.

BTW, I hate it when rappers hear some constructive criticism about them, those critics are considered "haters." WTF? nah dude, your just someone who has feelings like a broad.

what type of lifestyles are dudes bragging about? i hear people saying they got a big house and maserati or a lambo or something like that. none of that requires being a millionaire.
how much time do ou really think it takes a guy who has been rapping for 20+ years to craft a song?
and how much ime do it take to drop off weed or a bitch on a track? especially if you got years of seasoning on how to do this?
i dont hear nobody claiming mayweather money, i just see dudes saying they got a couple of nice things none of which are unobtainable. anything that ap-9 talks about in his music anyone with some hustle and focus can have too. he aint said he got a space shuttle or an island.
This is the kind of thing I am talking about (not Bay, but a nice example):

AND YOUR POINT?? you dont got to be rich to have Louie V clothes and bags. I know several muhfuckas in the hood on food stamps rocking louie shoes, bags, hats belts etc. clothes are nothing and dosent mean you rich dressing fresh has always been a hood thing since day one. theres people who will skip they gas/electric bill to buy the new jordans. my lil cousin rocks gucci every thing and he has no job but he sure does have gucci money when he wants to cop something.

but anyways its funny when rappers lie but it dont affect my life non so let them do them if people wanna be a follower and believe them then so be it. as for your statement that no rappers are getting real money off music dont fool yourself bc theres plenty that are really ballin and eating off that shit but theres more thats struggling. but only bitches worry more about the nexts mans bank statement over their own.

That's precisely the point - people use the expensive clothes as status symbol that supposedly indicates that they have the kind of money that would allow you to afford those things. But they don't actually have that kind of money. That's a problem - and I don't care at all how much money person X has, I am looking at the big picture.

You're not really contradicting what I said

1. I understand the mentality perfectly well - no need to lecture me on it. What I simply don't understand is why you're using the fact that this has been going on for so long as a justification for it. It cannot be. If something is wrong and stupid, then it is. If you're a rapper and you have made, let's say 1-2 million off of rap (which very few local artists have), you don't go out and buy a Lambo/Ferrari/Maybach for 200-300K, a mansion for close to a million, Gucci/Prada/LV clothes, etc. You have not made enough money to afford all of those things - the nature of the music business (not even just of the rap game) is such that you should be treating every dollar you make off of it as potentially your last dollar you make off music, and because other than that you have no other skills, you can be back to having no substantial reliable income the very next day. If you are an international superstar and have made tens of millions of dollars invested them and have reliable source of income for the foreseeable future, then it's different. But, as I said above, it's not those artists we talk about in this thread.

2. I can't listen to rock because I don't like it. Also, in the context of the thread, it should be noted that historically rock stars have not exactly been known for managing their money wisely
