AP is his highest selling. Everready is just his highest selling in stores as of today(check iTunes). Nobody really pirated music back in the AP days. Caribou is also tech's highest selling single.

According to wikipedia:

AP has sold over 250,000 copies.

I remember Everready came in #2 behind Jim Jones on the first week of that release, on like the Billboard hiphop charts or whatever.

He won't sell that many albums... people just don't buy cd's anymore. The majority of artist profit comes from touring, and merchandise. That's why I don't understand these artists that sign 360 deals.

Dont forget that AP was released online by Strange first things first, so piracy was not at all a worry for that album. I'm suprised how well that generated conversion revenue from DL to Album purchases (which included extra tracks and a DVD if I recall).

no leak yet ? ^

Tech will sell more on this cd mainly due to the 5 singles he leaked on the net..the word is out and people have loved this cd thus far ..even people who didnt know who he was until those 5 singles wouldve pre ordered or be waiting for release to purchase.. instead of a sampler he released a large chunk and i think that was wise < id be very amazed if this cd didnt sell higher than the last couple <

"If they like your shit they buy it" < I think thats still accurate and i dont understand why u think people dont buy cds anymore ?

I said that because every record label out today is saying it. Plus, you see record stores disappearing more and more each day, and if not, cutting back their floor space to use it for other types of merchandise. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. Some people do buy albums, but the vast majority would rather download them, and support artists in other ways.

^ yea with the itunes and stuff i guess its true :( id rather pretend it wasnt because when i pay for something id like to be able to see it ! I remember a few years ago some guy told me that CDs will be extinct and all music will be digital download and i called him a idiot lol guess he will eventually be right if the trend continues.

Dont some companies release the cd along with the itunes version ?

That number is actually really outdated. The total for Absolute Power was given as 313,000 in that Billboard article a few years back. Anghellic had 278,000 with Everready at 180,000. Though those numbers are from July 2009, so they're likely a touch higher now.

However you have to consider that they spent four years or so pushing Absolute Power too. It dropped in 2002, and hell... they were still doing "Absolute Power Tours" in 2004. I think that helps account for that album being the highest selling album. Anghellic was cut short in it's initial release, and then was re-released in the wake of AP. Then once Everready hit, they haven't really spent any time pushing an album as we've gotten a new album each year since. Or two in some cases.
