There's so much wrong with that cover, while at the same time being right.

Wrong:
He looks like an MK character.
He's holding the brands unrealistically close to the hottest part, with no smoke or burning flesh to show it being an aesthetic choice
He's sweaty looking

Right:
Despite all the above, it's off putting in much the same way as the AngHellic cover was.
It makes you think about what's really going on.
He's branded in a multitude of unpredictable, unarranged places... which is chaotic.
He appears to have branded himself, making him seem tough as nails and crazy as hell.
He could appear to be a blacksmith with the brands and the vest/apron, and that puts off a masochistic vibe.
The Roman Numerals apply "hidden" relating items that go back to the album title (LXVII = 67)

For someone gathering the hottest in the game for his album, this cover is certainly still very much "Tech". The Everready cover was the most mainstream accessible album cover he's ever done, and this is the opposite end of that spectrum.
well put.

good post lds didnt really think of it that way.. my biggest fear with this album is that its the beginning of the end..the turning point where tech drops his originality and goes for mainstream.. so maybe the album cover is just a reminder that he still tha same tech from way back <

No matter how much attention he gets, I cant see him changing his style too much. He has too much respect for himself and his fans to sellout and start making club shit exclusively. Not to mention that he is infact a strange person.. its not just a label name, dude has issues.

People started saying these types of things about Killer.. too many features, hes appealing to the mainstream, ive even heard people go as far as to say that he wasnt swearing a lot anymore to soften his image.. I guess everybody skipped the Dark Side of that album.

My point is, from the beginning Tech has been somewhat of a schizophrenic artist.. he has a different feeling to all his albums, yet theyre all still (to me anyways) familiar. I just dont see Tech conforming to industry standards.. the 6s and 7s cover proves that. I cant imagine anyone BUT Tech coming up with that one.

I thought as far as album covers by Tech it couldnt get any gayer than Killer..... I was wrong. But I agree with the mostly everyone here that its the music that counts.
You didn't like the Killer cover?

If you already knew thats what Tech was going for and still don't like it that's fine, just making sure.

Anyway, is anyone else getting really concerned with all these guest spots? Are we getting a solo here or another collab album?

im think tech already tried to sell out with the Gates Mixedplate and it didn't work....I think were about to get Everready part 2 tbh......I swear to god So Lonely better happen......if not he better have a song as good as Low was on KOD......I thinking Worldwide Choppers will be as good as the first by the lineup Im just hoping the beat is on par with it unlike MW2

I just dont see how he was trying to go mainstream with a collab album. It maybe wasnt as good as MLK but it got just as much rotation as Sickology for me.

And that video is hilarious.. dudes were fuckin gassed after the first one lol

I dont know why they needed to do that but yeah..

I could be wrong, but when I watched the video, I got the impression that they had done a few takes before where the video picked up.
i gathered that as well....since they said that kutt's voice was being picked up more than others.

glad to see Irv in there.......

Nah I'm not mad about anything... It's just that your message didn't really make much sense. "Tech sold out with Gates, we're going to get Everready 2, they better make a KOD song, Midwest Choppers 2 was wack... yadda yadda yadda."

Anyway I can't speak for the Kung Lao getup Tech is wearin. Kung Lao asked me where his hat is, but I think I have an idea where he might be able to find his shirt.

Anyway, enough with that talk. They might lock the 6&7's thread!

yada yada yada....that's what is spoken when alcohol is involved and clearly Im drunk.....
please dont hate on me as I was merely trying to convey 5 different thoughts at once in the same paragraph that had nothing to do with each other.
In other words

1. The new cover sucks balls
2. The GMP is (what I believe the closet sound Tech will have to be considered "selling out"
3. Low was my favorite song of KOD and I hope for one just as POWERFUL
4. I think the new album will be the 2nd best Tech solo behind Everready
5. I think the new Choppers song will be the best one yet unless it has a wack ass beat like MW2.....if those verses were on a better beat, the shit woulda been so much better than it was (which was one of the weaker tracks on SIckology)
