Shit I'd rather forget my wallet at home than my celly. In case of emergencies your cellphone can be yours or someones last lifeline. On top of that waiting to get home or finding a pay phone to make a call sucks. Speaking of getting job offers, I always seem to get them while away from home which helps when having a cellphone!

^ I thought about giving my son the "Firefly" phone and he's only 3

then I came to my senses....but I'll probably get him a cell phone when he's hella young tho.....mainly so me & him can talk without including the wicked witch of the west (my BM)
My son is 9 and he got a razr. It's good so I aint gotta talk to his mama anymore, I call him direct, lol

yup, and as someone who interviews/hires new employees, i can't tell you how ANNOYING it is when older people i hire don't have cell phones. makes contacting them/getting a hold of them more difficult and makes me want to deal with them less.

Cellphones for kids isn't a bad idea at all. Verizon has a service called chaperone in which you can monitor a phone from your own cell or the web. You can set parameters for that phone so if it goes outside that predefined area (school, house, block) you will get alerts. The other great thing is that if that phone is traveling you can view the speed and direction, enabling you to get an idea if they are riding their bike around the street at 5mph or going to the store with grandma at say 35mph. They also have phones where you can set up the phone to only be able to dial the contacts and 911. The contacts are added by you the parent (or employer) and cannot be altered without the lock code.

Besides communication my lgvx9900 is my fuckin' outlet to insanity when waiting anywhere. Right now I stay playing Tiger Woods 07 wherever I go. Got a 4gb card with a small portion of my music collection not to mention The Simpsons movie, Grandmas Boy and Transformers on the card too. Always on ESPN MVP checkin' scores and video clips. VZ Navigator is the shit too, anytime I'm driving in the bay or in So Cal I turn that shit on and get turn by turn navigation for hundreds less than a car gps unit.

Well it’s a pretty simple solution tell them you don’t have a cell phone and don’t give them your wife’s phone number any more. I have always had a cell phone but when I apply at jobs I never give them my number. I been at the same spot for 2 years and no one at the company has my number because I don’t want mother fukers calling me,talking about them want me to come in on my day off or something. Just give your Home Number.

I guess I haven't entered the cellphone age. I don't even own one. My wife has one, but technically it belongs to her parents. She has had it for a couple of years because it's one of those family plans.

Right now I'm applying for a new job and each application REQUIRES that you put down your home number and cell phone number. They look at me dumbfounded when I say I don't own a cellphone, similar to the reaction you would give your 20 year old friend when he tells you he is still a virgin. They tell me that I have to put one down, so I put hers down even though we never use it except maybe when we go on long drives.

What pisses me off is she will turn the phone on and find a week old message from a company wanting me to return their call even though I clearly stated on the original message I left to call me on my home phone and left my home phone number on the message. It's frustrating that people will no longer call your home phone first anymore. Everyone just assumes that you have a cellphone with you at all times and they will call you on that first. Pretty soon home phones will be obsolete.

GOD DAMN IT, CALL ME ON MY HOME PHONE FIRST!!!

In this day and age I think it takes effort to not have a cell phone. What is causing you to be reluctant to get a cell phone? How old are you? What is your problem with cell phones? Why can't you atleast get a pre-paid phone so yo don't look like a loser when you apply for jobs? Did you grow up on a farm and are so nostalgic about your childhood that you're trying to re-live it by not entering the modern world?

My cellphone came in handy the other night when I was reinstalling XP Pro. I forgot to jot down a key and so I was stuck during the install at the prompt that asked you to enter one. Got on mobile web and googled for a key.

Man I've had my Sony Ericcson phone for over 3 years. Im due for an upgrade, but i'm not trying to pay over $150+ for a phone I like. And the phones that are in my price range are garbage. And I can careless about the latest technologies. I guess i'm old school. I don't need no fuckin web access or all that other junk that comes with phones nowadays. I see all these people with their iPhones and shit. Its a cool phone but cats be thinking they raw cuz they got the latest fuckin technology.....ohh they can view youtube videos. Who gives a flying fuck right? Go get on a computer and watch it. Anyways I use a phone as a phone....and thats to call people. Shit I barely even use my phone. I'm always online. I got over 5000 rollover minutes. Damn! Thats bananas son!
