Have you actually used the SSl stuff they got? I read some stuff on it and almost ordered it but I wasn't sure if it was that great,

I have em (legit versions) and I think mr.pete uses them as well. IMHO, the SSL sound is an acquired taste, but you would have to know what an SSL actually sounds like in order to know if the plugs sound similar to the hardware.

You still trippin on the motif XS cuzzo?

I aint really trippin on it, Im just still debating if it's worth the 2200.
I can buy some other shit for that price, or just keep the loot and snatch an ES rack til the XS rack drops. I like it, but it aint amazing to me. Everything starts sounding the same after a while, no matter what shit you have. I've got a FantomX, Triton,XS, and they all have the same types of shit. I got the MPC4K for drums and samples, battery, nord lead, etc. bblah , blah blah, lol!
but I guess I'm still debating on it, I was never able to load any of that ES stuff on there, unless the sounds are exactly the same, I couldn't find any different patch names after I loaded it. I just got tired of messing with it, I was on it for like 10 hrs!

But back to the SSL, worth it or not??

The ssl software or the hardware?

I have the software and dont use it. Like I said, the sound of ssl's is an acquired taste (especially when buss compression comes into play), but if you don't know what an ssl sounds like you wont be able to tell if you are missing anything or not. Try it out and see if you like it.

As far as the hardware is concerned you should probably look into it.

yeah I know the hardware, wish I could afford it!ol
Haven't tried kurzweil yet. I guess I'm looking for that unique shit. Not soo much the best workstation or realistic sounds. I got a bunch of that already.
I want some shit that people aint really gonna buy that won't get played out hella fast. That's why I'm checking into the V-Synth XT and shit like that now.
My boy who works at Sony in NYC said Kanye and Ryan Leslie order one everytime they come through. I think you can run audio thru it to make some crazy sounds

Look into the k2600 or the 2661. If you want a board where people will ask "what did he make that on" these are your boards. The V synth is in a class of its own however as the main goal of teh board is to sample and tweek to your hearts content.
what's so great about them tho? Does it have crazy stuff in it or just really good quality?

Yes the pultecs are available in a pultec collection by bomb factory here at sweetwater not to bad of a price for a EQ sound of it's quality again close to the real thing very fine line there but these are about the best as you can get also another EQ if you have a protools HD setup is the massenburg EQ that shit floored me very good stuff here are the links very pricey but very good

Massenburg EQ- http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MDWHiResEQ/

Pultec EQ Collection- http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PultecBun/

That should give you a good idea about them if you want to know more just call sweetwater they always help you and don't try to push you to buy it.
