No, this isn't a beef thread or about competition........but just look at the picture:




The Bay is struggling to get back on the map, and they have a good-sized area to cover. The accepted "NorthWest" area is something like......basically, you can fit 18 Bay Areas in the size of our territory. It's fucking gigantic, and everybody wants to be included.


Montana....I'm sorry....but please go bugger yourselves.
Idaho, east of Boise....I'm sorry...but get lost.
Oregon, south of Eugene...I'm sorry...but you're not important.
B.C., north of Vancouver...I'm sorry...but you never even had a shot.


To have any kind of a shot, I think we need to break down the region to look something like this:



And then further break that down. Any other way, IMO, is an exercise in futility. Basically....a mothafuckin waste of time.

Tadou I'm down for any sort of discussion on geography b/c that is impacting everybody a hell of a lot more than most people on here would like to admit.

I think what you did was pointless though, I've got about 15 Gigs of Northwest music, 99.9% of which is within that second region you drawed out anyway (B/C THAT'S WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE).

No need to exclude anybody b/c it's not like someone from Eastern Idaho is going to end up reppin our region anyways, just let the natural population patterns do this work for you.

We are held back geographically by a LOT of other things (I have outlined them before, basically an overall lack of brothers), not b/c some of these outlying areas want to jump on our bandwagon.

I don't understand a word you're saying b/c when the guy drew his borders around the area he wants repped as the Northwest, he drew them to include Vancouver. So what are you saying?

Doggie I don't know who the fuck you are and I don't care either. I could go ask 100 people and I put it on everything ONE of them might have heard of ONE of them artists. Van City don't mean shit outside of Van City.

I agree a lot wit tadou... If it was an accomplished artist sayin the same shit I think a lot of ppl would take it as gospel... There's ppl in the game (a&r's, radio md's, promoters, etc..) That agree wit a lot of what he says...

The nw aint really gotta cut the dead weight, we just need to form a tight nit foundation... there needs to be at LEAST 5-10 GOOD if not GREAT acts poppin off at all times, In every genre of hip hop/rnb to realy get the focus on the nw...

I know ppl that are constantly movin the right direction, but we can't do it on our own... Its a new time now, so we need everyones help... And the fact that the nw is mostly white shouldn't hurt anything on the sales tip. Ppl just need acts they feel good supporting.

Its a WESTCOAST movement.. From border to border and then some so fuck all the bickering,

Make music, get money, make your mark..

2) It is very necessary to exclude. We need to establish that certain areas are undesirable (Montana, most of Idaho, etc.), and others are very fertile.

3) It is all interconnected. Fuck Equal Opportunity. Keep it out of their head before it even enters their thoughts. And if they don't?

Easy:

No more NorthWest. The NorthWest dies. It becomes: The Puget Sound.....Portland.....and thats IT.

I go up to Van City damn near every 2 months and I never heard of none of them muhfuckas.. only cats I see doin big things up there is Central Soul (Edge-1, Webmatic, Jaykin) and the Block Stars.. no one else. Never seen/heard any of those artists.. I'm opening for Mobb Deep in Vancouver on the 9th.. come check out some of the NW's finest rippin' in Canada..
