think the problem you might have is you like to nick-pick at each sentences...without understanding the larger pictures of what was written...(as it show in your posts).
I think the problem you might have is you like to nick-pick at the bible...without understanding the larger picture of what was writtin (as it has been shown in your various posts).

you want me to identify every thing i read about the bible...

Not true, I simply want you to clarify your statements and make an attempt to validate them. So far all I've seen is rhetoric and jargon.

it would still be meaningless to you

Like most of what you've posted?

somehow you'd argue my opinion of what was written like what you're doing now

Once again why have you attributed so many falsehoods to the bible?

its like telling me to post the bible itself on here....

No. I'm simply asking you to validtae your views and elaborate on them in a logical manner. You made statements and I asked you questions based on them. If you don't want to answer maybe you shouldn't post. No one makes threads talking about non-religious/non-spiritual people and how they have caused wars, death etc etc etc. So if you're going to make a post bashing what someone believes YOU should have insight on the subject matter. SO FAR YOU'VE SHOWN NO SIGN OF HAVING ANY KNOWLEDGE PERTAINING TO THE SUBJECT MATTER. :dead:

The bible tells people to be a certain way
Oh yeah? Which way is that? Once again you'll dance around the question.

if you have a mind of your own you learn or understand anything anyway you might feel at the time....

:ermm: I don't understand that. Please elaborate.

life itself is an opinion just like the bible

What type of porch philosophy is this? Life is an opinion? Life is an opinion or ones outlook on life is an opinion? Please clarify.

People taking it seriously...the outcome will prevent further intellectual understanding

?!?!?!

hence making it difficult to understand other people's opinions and understanding and visual facts.

The only time its "difficult to understand other peoples opinions and understanding and visual facts" is when a person isn't articulate enough to present these things in a logical and efficient manner. YOU.

The way you argue have proven to cause religious war

I can't make heads or tails of what that SHOULD mean but whatever.

Listen people have used religion as a tool to cause war. People have used religion as a tool to end racism and hatred.

Should you blame the message or the messenger?

I love how you avoid the questions.

What you seek is what you found. Very simple.
Exactly, and the same applies to you. You're obviously a very religious man, and you have a very noble interpretation of the bible - the promotion of doing good. Most people who are christians (or any other religion for that matter) are passionate about their lives and the lives of others, and believing in their creator provides them with a source of love and strength. Wars don't inherently spring from religion, it is caused by the few who interpret it 'their way', which is opposed to other interpretations or are simply trying to make a point. In this way, religion is similar to greenpeace - most of the adherents have their hearts in the right place, but then theres the few extremists who blow up a whaling boat to prove their point, giving all greenies a bad name.

If you want to believe in God, then fine.
If you want to be part of a religion, then fine.
If you don't believe in God and think religions bullshit, then fine.

But if you are kind and generous and live your life by trying to do good, then who cares what you believe?

What did you seek? I seriously doubt you've read the bible in context, used common sense while doing it, used the bible to interpret the bible, refrained from passing judgement on passages you didn't understand, read it in english AND the original languages, all while not serving your own agenda.

So what did you seek when you read the bible?

It's obvious that I'm NOT a very religious man considering the fact I'm NOT a "christian" and my name is HERESY. Spiritual? YES! Religious? NO! Two different concepts. BTW I let the bible interpret itself. No need for my spin on it.

o.k.

Wars don't inherently spring from religion, it is caused by the few who interpret it 'their way', which is opposed to other interpretations or are simply trying to make a point.

I've hinted at this in previous posts. Once again Do you blame the message or the messenger?

With that being said should people target the entire greenpeace party/ideology OR the people who give greenspace a bad name by blowing up boats? The MESSAGE or MESSENGER?

If you want to believe in God, then fine.

I've said the same thing on the board COUNTLESS times now. The boards leading athiest will confrim this.

But if you are kind and generous and live your life by trying to do good, then who cares what you believe?

With that being said what is the purpose of this thread?!?!?!

HERESY, just because people have read the bible and didn’t come to the same conclusions as you doesn’t mean they never studied the bible or had different agendas. There are plenty of ex-christians or ex-priests etc. that studied the bible for years only to later in life come to the conclusion that it’s full of shit.

I understand this comrade but it all goes back to what a person seeks. You also have people that were athiest who have read it, studied it and now believe in god. The bible itself is FULL of people who believed and turned away (apostasy is nothing new to religion bro.) If people would accept what the bible says about coming to conclusions we wouldn't have a problem with christianity, nor would this thread exist.

What are you reading some edited, rated G version??

The angel of the Lord went forth and struck down one hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp. Early the next morning they were there, all the corpses of the dead. (Isaiah 37:36 NAB)

[The Lord speaking] "The one who has stolen what was set apart for destruction will himself be burned with fire, along with everything he has, for he has broken the covenant of the LORD and has done a horrible thing in Israel." (Joshua 7:15 NLT)

On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you." (1 Kings 13:1-2 NLT)

RAPE IN THE BIBLE

So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. "This is what you are to do," they said. "Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin." Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan.

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.

Kill Sons of Sinners

Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

God Kills all the First Born of Egypt

And at midnight the LORD killed all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn son of the captive in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed. Pharaoh and his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died. (Exodus 12:29-30 NLT)

God Will Kill the Children of Sinners

If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT)

I can go on for days.
