The movie is INSPIRED by, but not based on Ed Gein. Ed Gein was also inspiration for Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. Crazy Ed was a sick mutha fucka though nonetheless.Read about Ed Gein here

original was better...maybe it was the shitty picture quality of the original one which made it seem freakier...maybe its because the original one was just that, original...but this one seemed to drag on...sort of boring for about 75% of the beggining...i dont like how every new horror movies seems like scream...w a bunch of "in" teen actors...horror movies are stale compared to the old days...

in the original texas chainsaw movies i found myself rooting for leatherface to mash on everyone...in this version i found myself anxiously waiting for the ending.

two thumbs down to yet another movie which should have never been remade.
