Here to set the record straight:

Seen this shit on ESPN: Outside The Lines a couple weeks ago.

He was black. So was she. They WERE NOT caught by a janitor in a bathroom. It was at a party in a hotel, and he, along with 4 (I think) other guys had sex with an OBVIOUSLY inhebriated girl about 17 years of age. SHE then went to the police the next day, saying she had been raped. When police began investigating, they discovered that the party had been videotaped, and saw, in graphic detail, the sex acts along with the oral sex by the 15 year old on Genarlow.

While the jury, during the trial, saw the video, as did many other people, they were forced to decide on TWO seperate charges, that involving the 17 year old (rape) and the 15 year old (child molestation). (This was ALL in the story on page 4...)

What the ESPN story told was how many believe that being that the jury couldn't agree on a guilty verdict for the rape of the 17 year old, they ''made up'' for it with the molestation charge. One juror said she would have sentenced him for the rape (she believed he was guilty), but her co-jurors talked her out of it, saying they would rule guilty on the molestation charge.

This kid was an honor student, a highly touted athlete, a stand-up kid in the community...and he was black. This, I feel, goes to show you that no matter how ''good'' you try to be, in some places, you're still ''second fiddle'' to others...

Sorry for the ramblings...just my two cents.

FREE GENARLOW WILSON.
I seen the same episode. some of the jurors broke down in tears when they heard the sentence. the real fucked up thing is that they've changed the law because of the case, but still haven't released him or anything of that matter.

yeah i seen that shit on espn.. this dude was a dope ass defensive back in high school im pretty sure thats what they said... he was a top prospect for some big schools.... sad thing is the jury that hit him wit that one guilty verdict had no idea how long the sentence would be... thats why when they heard it a few broke down in tears... and now the law has changed down there but they can't go back and change the conviciton thats why they appealed...... it's some straight up bullshit......... if anything give him one year for each year different in there age.... 17 to 15 2 years... im just makin that up but it don't mean a fuckin 18 year old fuckin a 8 year old should only get 10.. but that seems a little more like it........ damn man i feel for dude

when i first read this i thought yall meant he got sentenced to prison for simply getting dome. But now I see that rape was brought up in the case I look at it different now. But it also said the girl was drunk so she mighta just screamed rape after the fact.

One thing I never could figure out is this:

If a girl is drunk, she can scream rape. What if, like in this case, they were both drunk...why should he be punished? He fucked her, she fucked him...it's bullshit.

I wouldn't have a problem with MY STATE taking shit like this on a case by case basis...that way, this kid could have a second chance at life. But they won't even give him a retrial.
