I take it back if I was wrong, but what the hell are you guys talking about? It still looks similar to something I've seen before even if it's not the Slipknot mask... Don't be so cryptic for fucks sake. I might not have caught every interview.
Well then how the fuck am I oblivious if I'm talking about the paint that was posted in the thread?
I'm def oblivious right now b/c I have no idea what the fuck you guys are talking about, still. If somebody wants to explain, then feel free to do so at any time.
Tech wears paint for the same reason his African ancestors did. To express themselves through it. It doesn't really have anything to do with what he thinks is cool. It's how he feels at the moment they start painting his face that determines what it looks like. This paint is moreso theatrical in nature than his previous paints.
I don't but the tribal thing.
To be honest, I think he started doing it for whatever reason (cough, JUGGALO, cough) and then came up with that explanation to avoid being stereotyped.

I would buy that if he did his own paint... You can't claim to express yourself and then have someone else paint your shit. That would be like telling someone how to paint a portrait on a canvas and claiming it was your vision after they were done.
Not necessarily. That's where the words come into play. It's been basically the same design, just with different names. Dude's said a few times before that the words painted on his face express what kind of mood he was in before a show.

You're both right, but I never heard the African tribal paint thing before MLK. Makes it a little fishy to me.
Then again, he could've one day way back when, just picked up some grease paint and thought to himself... "Hmmmmmm"
