I feel Lil Wayne has never been dope. The Carter 3 was a commercial lump of shit but everything that I've heard from Wayne before that has just sounded like a lump of shit too. There's certain rappers who I think are ruined by the fact that they fake everything they do and sound like every other rapper on the radio to basically just make money. But then there's rappers like Wayne who I think are just terrible from his raspy voice to his terrible metaphors, I can't fucking listen to the garbage he is slamming into my ears.

I like the whole "The block is hot" and "Bling Bling" shit... but I was 15-16 and high on everything but coke then. I was just trying to get into anything hip-hop/rap related so I was listening to everything back then.

And shit... that was a long time ago.

I gave a listen to Cognito's album just yesterday and there's a song on there where Tech opens up the song talkin' about how rappers now, wearing skinny jeans and shit are fuckin' squares. He even drops a few lines about it in his verse.
