I couldnt have said it any better than Mr. Cleen, Jones fought a fight designed for that 24lb loss. What i witness was an unprepared Jones fight a Healthy Tarver. The first two rounds tarver did control those early rounds but when he started to taunt Jones that was his demise. He lost total focus of what he started doing and Jones regrouped and took Tarver off his fight. True he threw more punches but half those punches during those final rounds werent doing any damage until the later rounds when they were landing through Jones guard. 117-111 is how i had it scored and i was suprised that 2/3 had it the same.

Roy didn't do enough to win, plain and simple.
If anyone deserved a win, it was Tarver.
Are you serious also, if asy1 didnt do enough if was Tarver, after the 6th round RJJ was very tires, yet Tarver did NOTHING to take the fight to RJJ, instead he let RJJ dictate pace and direction of the fight.

LOL @ PITTY PATTING TO KEEP THE CHAMP OFF HIM, TARVER COULDNT EVEN FIGHT ROY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING,

ROY JONES WAS BASICALLY CONTROLING THE FIGHT UNTIL HE'D GET TIRED AND REST, IF ROY JONES FIGHTS TARVER AGAIN HE WILL DESTROY TARVER,

TARVER DOESNT GET ANY RESPECT UNTIL HE CAN FIGHT ROY JONES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, WHEN THE LAST TIME YOU SEEN ROY JONES GET THAT TIRED IN A FIGHT, HE USUALLY GOES 12 ROUNDS EASILY, I THINK ANY FIGHTER COULD DO THE SAME DAMAGE TARVER DID TO JONES IF JONES WAS JUST WANTING TO REST!!!

Yes it was pitty patting.
Come on man, why wasn't Jones able to catch Tarver with his usual sweeping left hook? How about his quick right hand?

Cuz he had a taller man with a good jab in front of him, that's why. A jab will always stop that shit it in it's tracks.
It's simple physics man....

Roy will never be effective against Tarver, just like Mosley will never be effective against Forrest.

Roy always rests against the ropes man. He's done it through out his career. But he's never been in the ring with a man like Tarver.
Remember when Roy fought Vinny Paz?
Paz landed some flurries like that but then tired off, also he wasn't a hard puncher. Point is, other fighters have gotten Jones in that position but Roy lucked out cuz they were chumps.
He lucked out with Tarver too, cuz if Tarver would've gone after him, he would've "easily" knocked Jones out cold.
Hopefully Tarver grows some balls for the rematch, his style owns Jones. It is that easy because his jab neutralizes anything Jones does. And he has the reach to hurt Jones while Jones can't even reach him for a counter.

i had it 115-113 for jones, but some of those rounds were very hard to score......it all depend on wether you liked the bigger puncher or the cat controlling the pace.....the fight was definitley there for tarver to win and he put more hurt on roy thats for sure.....but,he gave away rounds by not being busy enough and he had to much respect for roy.... thats what lost him the fight.....and toney was whoopin holyfield pretty much all the way thru the fight.....i want to see toney and jones again but at the new cruiserweight limit of 200lbs....it will be much better than the first fight....and who do yall like in that barrera- pacquiao fight, that muthafucka should be a slugfest boy!!!!!!that little flip has hands and always comes to fight but barrera has too many skills...........

Manny's good, he's fun to watch but I think he ventured out his neck of the woods.
He's coming up from 122 lbs. and taking on the best Featherweight in the world without a tune up fight.
Big mistake.

It should be a good action fight, especially if he can lure Barrera into a slugfest. But I just think Barrera will disect him round by round and eventually take him out in the middle or late rounds.
This fight has the potential for fight of the year.
So far I think Toney VS Jirov is the best fight of the year....

First off I had Jones winning this fight by 4 rounds. I have watched it 3 times now and have it the same way. A point that I dont think was brought up yet was power punches. Judges score higher for a power punch than a jab. Jones won the Power punch stats and threw harder punches throughout the fight. That will be your argument that you would have to disprove and it cant be done. Jones did have his hands full and I have never seen Jones get hit so many times in a fight. I give Tarver much respect, but its his style that matches up with Jones that gave RJ problems. Tarver is not a top P4P candidate.

As for this weekend, Pacman vs Barrera, I am torn on this one. Both fighters are favorites of mine. My first interview I ever did was with Marco, and I saw Manny fight Agapito Sanchez in SF and got his handwraps from the fight. I will be happy for either of them, but I think MAB will be to much in the end, but I would not be suprised to see Manny pull off the upset.
