@ Jay Tee or who ever can help.
I know you've been on quite a few tracks with the talkbox.

What You Do (Fingazz)
Baby Girl / Every Minute (Magic)
All Night / La Raza (Roger Troutman)
... and so on

I was wonder what equipment they use: from the talkbox to the keyboard and sample.

Banshee Talkbox
Helis Talkbox......
Mini Moog (Keyboard)
Yamaha DX100 (Keyboard).....

I know that toward the end of Roger's career he used the Yamaha DX100, but not sure what kind of talkbox.

Already tried the studio forum a while back and they didn't really give me any good info.

I know a few west coast producers that use the Rocktron Banshee. They say most dudes on the west use them. You just need a keyboard that has a phattt synth or bass patch to run it through. Mini moogs got real thick sounds so some use that, but you can rock it through a triton, motif, etc...

Good shit dogg. thanks for the feedback. Right now I got a Banshee and a Motif es. I've tried damn near ever fuckin sample on that thing and it doesn't sound as clean as I want it. The motif got some tight synths but nothin like the Mini Moog.

Thanks again Amplified

I can help answer this...

Roger used a mini moog in the beginning and a DX-100 towards the end....He used a talkbox called "The Golden Throat" made by Electro Harmonix....They no longer make them but you CAN find the parts to make one yerself (info on the net). Magic uses a DX-100 and a Rocktron Banshee and I think Insane Mixaken does too...However you need the right presets for the DX if you want "THE" sound....It won't be the same just stock. I was lucky enough to get the Roger presets from a guy who shall remain nameless....

Hope that helps

edit: Oh and for the record, the Banshee has a built-in amp while the Heil and Golden Throat require an external amp

Mark 7 always comin thru. Thanks money $$$
The saw sample really ain't workin on the motif like I'd like.

I use to have the DX-100 back in the day. Didn't know you could load samples on to it.
One last Question about the famous ("THE" sound,) and the presets needed.
How would I go about gettin them, and how much would it cost?

and since it doesn't hurt to ask:::: WHATS THE DEAL WITH THE ROGER SAMPLE, you sellin it or givin any info on how to obtain it :)

Thanks again Mr. Mark 7
