Also, just to add one more observation...

Does "liberal" on those tests translate into "classical liberalism" or is it "progressive liberalism?"

Because IMO, progressive ideas weather they be republican or democrat are nothing more than fascism, and that is hardly "liberal" or left - those ideas are more authoritarian.
