No, Common is from Chicago. However, it seemed a lot of those fliers were Midwest oriented and not strictly KC themed. Thus, he was probably just on one of those bills and they took the opportunity to get footage of him. Much like ?uestlove.

... and yeah, Tech doesn't often find himself in traditional "beefs" where we see shots sent back and forth on a regular basis. The only one that would probably fit that definition would be Vell, as they had a long standing rivalry with several shots sent back and forth. There was the case of Bakarii "replying" to Kansas City King with the line about how many licks it takes to make little "Donny's" jaw break. However, that was speculated as a response and could have been unrelated.

Fact still remains that it was said Tech doesn't "usually diss people" which suggests he doesn't tend to speak negatively on another "on wax" which isn't the case. Like you mentioned, when he does put something out there, it's due to something of a personal nature and not just because he heard something in a song by someone else that could have been twisted around and interpreted as a diss toward him (or as someone might call it, "pull a Black Walt") or something of a similar nature (read as: bullshit beef, or publicity beef).

EDIT: Oh, and how could I have forgotten his shot at IcyRoc and Will the Weirdo earlier? Can't forget all those motherfuckers that are Gon Die 2 Nite too, lulz.
