Do you even play fighting games?
What the hell kinda question is that? Are you asking if I devote my waking hours to it, or if I'm some type of fanatic that knows all the jargon and can detect every frame of animation for each character while I'm blind folded? If that's what you're asking, no. If you're asking do I play fighting games to the point I'll spend $60, it depends on if I like the game or not.
What are they going to patch? These things you're complaining about are very standard among fighting games.
What are you going to patch? You're going to patch a character disappearing 18 times in a row. You're also going to patch the game so the priority of certain characters move sets are more balanced. Moreover, you're going to do it so the animation doesn't pause for a quick second while the priority registers.
These issues are "standard" among fighting games? Which fighting games? Seems like bad programming to me and everyone else who have been vocal about the problem.
In fact seeing as this game is 3D rendered and not sprite based I'm willing to bet they went out of their way to put these things in.
Why would they go out of their way to put these things in? What company goes out of there way to knowingly introduce fuck ups?
I'm sure seth wasn't designed for competitive play seeing as how they just gave him a pallet swap with a list of stolen moves. Plus he's already been banned from competitive play.
Listen, you did not sit on the Capcom board. You have read nothing about them saying why they designed Seth. Moreover, do you
really think Capcom and other companies give strong consideration to competitive markets (people playing tournies) when they are designing these characters and games? No. Why? Because the majority of the people playing these games are NOT competitive players. Also, he has not been banned from all competitive play. In some circles/leagues he has, in others he hasn't. Moreover, he has NOT been banned from online play via live or PS3, and this is probably where the majority of playing will happen.
(And note, I'm not saying they don't consider the competitive market. I'm saying they are considering the larger target audience first.)
Logic dictates if they did not design him for competitive play, he would not have been a playable character. Moreover, he isn't simply a pallete as his moves and animations are different. Does Guile throw a one armed sonic boom? Does Zangief or any shoto characters uppercut you and give you a spinning piledriver?
Personally Akuma in ST ----------WAY HARDER-----------> Seth
And some would put Gil and the alternate version of Bison on the list.
