While out in San Francisco pushing some Cds hand to hand, I met a rapper from Stockton out there pushing his Cds also. He said that Stockton DIDN'T have any Record Stores besides Rasputin Music and I had to put him up on game even though I am not from Stockton and he was.

Stockton has Replay Records, Rasputin Music and J-Teez (yeah they sell Cds). There is also Coast 2 Coast but I am not sure if they are still open (I will find out this weekend).

BAY AREA Rap Artists and Labels, you gotta get your music to Stockton. You can move a good amount of units there. Playgyrl Slim is from there and she goes hard. Sam Raw is from there and he goes hard. Deebo from Boss Status Magazine and Wee Seed Records is out there.

If you BAY AREA Rap Artists and Labels get a chance this week, head out to these locations. SPEND SOME MONEY THERE (support the stores), take your Promotional Materials there and if you are going to be coming back to that area "often" do some consignments.

You can do good in STOCKTON if you spend the time there. Time is money and you have to stay there grindin'. Make a day out of it. People in STOCKTON like music too. BAY catz need to understand that catz "EVERYWHERE" enjoy their music and they have to move further out then just Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond and Ect.

I have L-Love presents "East County Gamers" in stores in Stockton. Plus the music always does good in Rasputin Music on Pacific Avenue.

There are alot of artists from cities like Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond and Ect, that could spend a day out in STOCKTON pushing hand to hand out the trunk and move 25-50 cds in a day. That is money in hand right then and there and the buying public is getting something that they would other wise have a hard time finding. A win/win situation.

STAY UP STOCKTON, I see you!

is this that little ass shop that also carries records?

and i've never been to J-Teez before, but it looks as its right by my potnas house

::
Yep. With the square owner. Dude knows it "ALL". He has had his shops for a hot minute and knows his music. MOST OF ALL HE SUPPORTS RAP. It is just that not many artists and labels go to the shop and support.

It is sad but one day I was talking to one of the owners of one of the Largest Distributors in California and they didn't even know that the shop was still open, but I have sat there and watched the owner of the shop make "HUGE" orders with Bassin Distribution in Florida.

man yall forgettin about C-4 Records... Carlos is good people....

Rasputin moved into the old Tower Records.... I know people got some action on good selection there...

J-Teez was always weak to me... as was Replay Records.. Replay Records in Manteca is much better and used to support heavily. Cashin cats out... and even doin well on consignments.

og MS, yeah man Carlos carried alot of my music. He moved his shop twice and then unfortunately he had to shut his doors for good.

i dont know how your comment is geared but by saying devided i mean "the bay" devided itself from stockton, back in the day it wasnt like that. but now theres this big ol' bay hype.

as far as J-Teez, he only pretty much carries new releases.........

Replay used to be it, back when it was next to Tower. it was poppin then. since it moved it hasnt been the same. no rappers realy put there stuff on consignment there no more and no one trades in there cd's no more so its not much of an outlet anymore since they moved. Only rap cats i see on consignment there lately was Icarus Jones and Kaz Kaizer from The Team........

One location Carlos of C-4 Records had was cool. It was HUGE and they had his Dj Set-Up going at all times, there was a Recording Studio set up in the back. It had alot of older BAY AREA titles that you can't find anymore. He had one Whole Entire Rack of old Black Market Records material.

He would also have alot of Autograph Signings there and would bring out alot of big BAY AREA talent. Some of the talent wouldn't take it serious and would show up late and miss tons of fans that had been waiting there to see them for hours. Carlos really tried.
