This kind of shit happened with the Penguins last year. They pretty much said "we're moving to Kansas City". It took the "inevitable" statements for the community to get together and fork over the cash for the new arena they're building now.

There's a slim chance that the comments made will finally get the community off of its ass to make something happen for a new arena. I know he said there's no chance whatsoever, but that's the same thing they said about the Penguins last year, and our dying city has a LOT less cash than Seattle.

Thats just it though, we dont NEED a new arena, let alone a $500 million one. Clay Bennett just placed that outrageous price becuase he KNEW it would get turned down, which would then give him the go ahead to file for relocation with the NBA....

Its funny, becuase he thinks he is slick and we couldnt see his motives...kinda hard to do that when one of co-owners OPENLY said IN the local newspaper "we never intended to stay in Seattle"....

And lets not forget that the Key Arena went through renovation only a DECADE ago, and we are STILL paying that one off...

Well I personally wouldn't mind paying for a new arena, but I can see where the opposition is coming from with the renovation only a few years back.

Key Arena is fairly nice on on the inside, but it does suck that it is the smallest venue in the NBA.

I think they need to change the revenue sharing agreement because I have heard that is is fairly shitty as well, especially in comparison to the Mariners/Hawks.
