so try and put yourself in these shoes

you're a 21 yr old male moving into a new apartment fresh, with just your clothes bed and basic needs. you got about $1000 to spend on new shit (excluding groceries). what do you need now to not just be living in some hella abandoned pad.

you can treat this as funny and say whatever like pool tables stripper pole jacuzzi etc, or take it serious and list off shit most young people would definitely need but overlook (pots pans plates vacuum cleaner can opener chairs etc) which would probably help out a lot more

Get a table for the PS2 or Xbox, a couch for the PS2 or Xbox.. A table for the computer, and a chair for the computer.. and maybe another table to eat on lol

Thats pretty much all you need furniture wise.. I'd spend the rest of the $$ on a hydroponic set-up haha.. or on some stripper poles, those always come in handy when the bitches come over, yaddadadiiiiiiiiig ?

live as cheap as you can for the first three months, after that figure the luxuries you can afford.

food-
-generic and bulk
-learn ways to pakage meat-
boxes of noodles are coo

i don't know what kind of neighborhood you live in, but right down the hustles you see that would work. seriously consider making money right where you live.

plants are always cool too in an aptmartment add character and fresh air. books, get to reading. also if you are byyourself, and you can't find yourself in all that you are doing, pray.

furnish your house off of hand me downs (except for the couches or beds, those should be new, or cleaned to high hell) until you get your money up a little.

garage sales, thrift stores, craigslist, things of that nature.

youll know what you *need* when you notice you cant cook meals, or you cant make a hamburger, or you aint got knives or spoons or plates, those are the things you buy. if i were you i'd slum it out for a while and save some of that 1000, rich people who buy new shit tend to look for people who want the older shit because they dont have space in the garage and thats where you come in.

youd be suprised how many people are willing to part with a table or a old desk or some shit like that. alot of people even leave stuff like that on the side of their houses with "for free" signs.

if you feel like you need something new, buy it accordingly. but if i were you id save some money for an emergency if you have 1000 dollars to spend. lord knows i wish i would have done that when i first moved out...

oh, buy a vacuum, if you dont have one.
and cleaning supplies. they go a long way and your first apt. will get scummy, if you enjoy your freedom like i did. (beer spills, bong spills, etc). also start saving up your change if you dont have a washer and dryer.

how's your incoming income going to be after this? you don't want to go and blow all your $1000 if you are going to be barely making enough to pay bills so you might just want to take it easy at first.... use paper plates and plastic spoons for now they always come in handy......microwave is a must....papertowels, ass wipe, towels, go to a 2nd hand store for tv holder, cofee table, end tables etc... plants are good to take up space and make it more cozy as well

If I was you, and I am only speaking from MY persepctive, I would find a way to turn that money into more money and then you'll have a bit more freedom to spend on house shit. I feel what youre going through, as I will be goin through the same in about 4 months (although ill be 29 by then, not 21).

Ikea is always good, so is Target.
