I think its a good trade. Now Monta Ellis will get a chance to start. If they can make that move for Garnett too the warriars may win the Championship next year....

Crazy! I guess they didn't want to play Nellie Ball next season because they would've been worn out early in the season.

LOL ya'll need to settle down..J-Rich was good but he's not that great. Shooting guards come a dime a dozen, if Wright turns out to be a solid big man this will end up being a steal. Plus it free's some cap space to resign other guys like Ellis in the future. Ill miss J-Rich for his heart and passion tho..hope he does well in Charlotte.

^^yup
Getting rid of Jrich cleared 4 yrs 48 million off the cap. If this Italian guy is any good he will offset losing JRich, and we'll finally have a big man that can play. Sucks to lose JRich but as a business move it was smart

This is an excellent trade! Wright is a true savage check his stats and was only a freshmen.....J Rich was as good as he was going to get, plus he wasnt attacking the rim like he use to....Knee injury or not attack the damn rim...I will miss him though i have his jersey and he was a true warrior all those loosing seasons; finally made the playoffs and they ship him off...O well its the nature of the sport/bizz i guess.....

And about the thread shit this is a BAY AREA FORUM...The warriors were directly affected and we shipped off a player who was liked by all....It deserves its own thread, so we dont have to read a bunch of bullshit from teams and players we give a fuck about, for those who do give a fuck go to the draft thread...but this is the BAY.....BAY RELATED SHIT......

P.S. Fuck the lakers, how do you defend a whiney bitch like kobe bryant who's worse than my kids, changing his mind all the time.....Plus he snitched on shaq, telling the judge he pays women off to not tell his wife he's cheating....Fuck him....Dope player yeah but fuck kobe as a person...

^^ Yup, this was a very good trade IMO. We got some cap space and who knows how good J-Rich is gonna be after the injury. I mean warriors fans will miss him, like already mentioned dude was a true Warrior and the heart of the team. But we got enough shooters and we desprately needed a big man. Hopefully Wright pans out and now we can most likely sign Barnes.

Either him or Ellis had to go, sucks but it had to be done..but both business and team wise JR was a smarter trade. Hopefully dude from Italy is as good as the Warriors think he is.

Cant wait for 07/08 season! go Dubs!!

love j-rich, but good trade. we take the position that we have the most talent at 2 guard. and trade the most expensive player at the position (jrich) for our biggest need which was a true PF. wright probably wont be ready to put up big numbers this season but he is still 19, will put on weight and should be good fit with nelson since he can run and finish and get offensive rebounds. wright was the 3-4th best prospect in the draft and we got him for j-rich, saved ourselves millions to resign ellis/biedrnis and we also gained a 10 million dollar player trade exemption, which we can use on barnes or any other free agent. but going up against duncan, boozer, amare, garnett, oden, etc of the western conference we needed someone to at least compete with them. he might not be them but he could be pretty close and pretty good. some compare him to a young chris bosh.

As a third party with no interest in either team whatsoever, I see the deal as a good one for the Warriors. J-Rich's contract was way to big for his talent. SG is the most replaceable position in the NBA, besides maybe SF. And if you get a great big man out of the deal, then you are set for the future.

For the Bobcats, I don't think it's a good deal. They already have Gerald Wallace there, they aren't gonna be playoff contenders even with Richardson, so I don't get it. They should've kept building for the future, but what can you expect from the guy who drafted Kwame Brown.

As several people have already stated, the trade itself was not a bad move. Jason Richardson was just heavily invested emotionally in the team and the fans in him. That makes the trade hard to believe and bare but when the emotions clear, the fans will see it was done for the better.

I don't know if fans would have gotten so emotional if it was anybody but J-Rich. This guy was the heart of the team. He was there when the team was down and he finally was able to see the playoffs this season after so many losing years. Through it all, he was always giving his all and was fully committed to the Warrior organization. Nobody can question his heart, not just this year, but all the years before. Being a Warrior fan since I was a kid, I was so happy to see them make the playoffs. One thing I was so happy about was to see J-Rich finally get to see the playoffs after so many horrible seasons. To me, Jason Richardson was the heart of the team and that is why I think Chris Mullin said after the playoffs that he was the only Warrior that was untouchable in terms of trading. I think it was wrong of Chris Mullin to say that and then trade him. I'll admit that J-Rich was good, but not great as a player. But the emotion and energy he brought to the team is just irreplacable.

Yup said it best. It's going to be weird for a minute seeing JRich in another uniform. Hopefully it'll be for the better.

Don Nelson has every right to be running the show. He was the perfect coach for the guys and went beyond anyone's expectations with the team. However, so much of his coaching was based on team chemistry. With Jason Richardson gone, will their team chemistry be gone as well?
