Shipping 500,000 means warner bros got paid for those albums now meaning they were sold just were not sold to consumers that's the stores job now.. Also all the mom and pop stores that don't have soundscan either accross the whole country have to take them into consideration also. So basicaly warner has sold 500,000 copies stores have only soundscaned 400,000 so far.. There's a lot of perks with a gold plaque like price adjustment in the bigger stores they will give u better positioning as well as better product placement. More media outlets will wanna fuck with you cuz your considered on a diffrent level now basicaly what's hot to the public...
Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about.
E-40 is in a pretty good position, because although hes only sold 400k thusfar, his album has pretty good legs, It came out in march, and its still holding steady on the charts.
The only other albums that came out in march that i can think of, that are still selling strong is T.I's king. E-40 is also still only on his 2nd single. If lil jon pushes the album like he said he would, 40 can release at least 2 more singles, and sell a few hundred thousand more copies.
E-40 is in ALOT better shape than other major artists like Obie Trice. who has released THREE videos before his album dropped (snitch, cry now, and jamaica girl) and his album only pushed 78k the first week. Or bustah rhymes, who has released FOUR videos, in only 2 months (touch it, touch it remix, new york shit, In the Ghetto).
