I agree that he should rep the city, but i dont feel he owes other artists in Daygo to put them on, especially if he doesnt know them personally or not even a fan of them....Do you really think Mitchy or Jayo would really try to put Nick Cannon on the map if he was a struggling rapper(especially considering his type of rap) and they made it big? I might be wrong, but I dont think they would even care about Nick Cannon...

Itz also funny, because since he is NOT a "gangsta" rapper, many people from Daygo dont even want to claim Nick Cannon as a hometown....Does what T-nutty say "if you from Sac Town and you dont put it down, keep 916 out your mouth" also apply to this situation? if Nick Cannon aint tight keep 916/858, etc out his mouth or do you want him to rep Daygo whether he is tight or not? honest question...because I know for a fact that if Nick rep Daygo on TV and it really blows up as an artists, this will come back to haunt A LOT of you......

Do you just want anyone repping daygo, or someone that you feel is a good representation of Daygo?.....i want Daygo on the map as well, but I wouldnt want a Vanilla Ice/MC hammer being the spokesperson for Daygo

sometimes having someone who isnt thought of as a representation of a city can work in a positive way...for example Nelly in St Louis. When Nelly is selling records and repping St Louis/Midwest the major labels will pay more attention to St Louis/Midwest artists in search of new acts.

I heard one time that this fool was asked where he's from and he said southern cali, not dago. no one should hate on his hustle to make paper but damn at least he could rep his city once in a while. I feel what train is saying in that if he did rep dago, would u really want him to? but I think right now any publicity for the 619 in the rap game would be good publicity, ya feel me. but I do think that he should put other artists on since he doesnt have the beefs of gangbaning to hold him back from clicking up with other artist from SD.

I feel that, but I always thought St. Louis were proud of Nelly and supported him...To be honest, No matter how many times Nick Cannon said Daygo in a song, i still wouldnt buy his albums(I STILL dont consider him a rapper and his music doesnt appeal to me)...You're right, by him repping can cause others in the town to get more exposure...but i will VERBALLY support anyone from the town making moves and becoming successful, whether I am down with it or not(as long as itz legal and doesnt hurt others)

this is how it goes....... he should be saying HE IS A SAN DIEGO ARTIST..... not because we like him here, cuz i honestly dont know 1 dude that even DOWNLOADED a nick cannon song........but because it can give exposier to the city......

i never said he should stick his palm out to spacific emcees...... he should just rep the city......... cuz the mainstream will look here for more talent....... see, Bullet Loco did the opposite thing...... he didnt just rep the city..... he repped his set... which made record execs. NOT WANT TO look at dago..... they thought it was just a shitload of crips running around.

I agree with some of the shit dude touched on, but the rest is complete garbage.

It's a fact that 95% of the hip-hop fans outside of Southern Cali don't wanna hear what South East Dago's all about. And it's a fact that 95% of Dago emcees only touch on what they know; the San Deigo streets. Niqqas need to expand the shit they spit about. Sure, Jayo's mostly on that gangsta shit, but it's on a lyrical tip. He ain't reppin' Dago every other line. And as for Nick Cannon, I can't knock dude's hustle because he's stackin' major chips. And you never hear him claimin' any sets or what not because that ain't who dude is.

HOWEVER...I do have a problem with dumbass dj's who work for whack ass z90 stating that Nick Cannon's holdin' "us" down to the fullest, and that we need to support him to the fullest. Fuck that! He chose to be a pop-artist, which again I ain't hatin' on him for, but once he did that it doesn't matter where he's from. And he certainly ain't holdin' Dago down. That niqqa don't even mention Dago. Ever.

Oh yeah...and haha @ dude callin' San Diego a "sleepy beach town". That may be the overall non Southern CA folks' consensus about us, but everyone who knows wha'sup knows that SD is one of the hardest cities in the US. Period.
