Haha, I'm just being a dick and keeping with the idea that, like RJ said, I'm bitter that they all listen to hipster music now. Truth be told; I was never bitter, I was more baffled than anything. I always looked at it like, when they would say, "Damn the new Black Keys is fucking dope!", I would listen to it and would be like, "Are you fucking with me right now?". I guess there is a certain level of coolness involved with that music, but ultimately, it does nothing for me. It does not even slightly appeal to me senses. The best thing I take away from hipster music is that, there is still a chance I can become a successful musician. Lol.
In all seriousness though, I tried. I tried, and tried, and tried. I could not get into 90% of it. It's so unmotivating. It's crazy because I relate so much to the "hipster" lifestyle in terms of cultural arts, just not music. But still to this day, I try and will probably continue to give it the benefit of the doubt. And who knows, maybe one day...

a lot of these albums are cool but just unexciting. hard for me to get excited about music that is so chill. if i am going to listen to this type of music it needs to have a uniqueness in order to keep my interest. blood orange stood out to me in that way. beirut has always had that same feel for me as well.
