I partly disagree with this statement. Tech N9ne dropped a #1 album at age 40. X will be that age if he gets out in 2014. Lynch is already that age. Busta is 40+, E-40 is up there. I'm not saying he will jump right to the top of the rap game, but there's definitely room for him to make up for lost time. More importantly, he'll be able to write for and produce younger artists which he's been trying to do since the 90s.
Thing is X isnt doing tech nine numbers or has the following and fanbase that tech has and its not liek he can tour like tech so lets be real all BS aside. Lynch isnt doing nothing these days his new shit not gonna sell just like the last didnt and he living off 1995 & 1997 ALBUMS, Busta is major and platinum artist and very colorful rapper that has that attraction and is a worldwide legend in rap, dont get me wrong X can rap his ass off but alot his new verses are either depressing or go over people heads, E-40 is still popping and always have the right connects and networks and still fresh bc he knows how to reinvent himself to sound good with the young crowd he still the top rapper in the bay and no one taking his spot anytime soon.
Im just stating my opinion in bc my eyes I dont see X blowing up rather he in jail or not bc he alway gonna have that dark cloud over him of murdering that lady(not saying he did it but thats what the papers say and he was convicted of) and i dont see no majors labels and mainstream backing or glorifying a artist like that up nowdays he had his moment in the 90s gangsta rap era and for some reason it didnt happen. Im just stating my thoughts like I said its only my opinion. Hope that brotha do get out and works with the right producers that will sky rocket his sound. He wont blow up like that but I can see him having the potential to making a solid album at most and yeah I can see him making alot of money by ghostwriting for younger artists he could cash in major on that.
Another thing I can see him doing if he get out is Change his stage name and reinvent himself and sound so his stage name wont link him to that murder.

I feel you bro. The age thing could be a factor but those guys have proven that a rapper in his 40s can still connect with a broad audience. You're right tho, it will not be easy for him to do. Despite being in prison and having a bad rep, I know he's a valuable commodity in the rapper market. Just things I've witnessed from running his label, I know that there would be major interest in a free X-Raided.
The biggest card he has in his back pocket though is that he still owns rights to his BMR music. Cedric Singleton thinks he doesn't owe X any money but he owes him mid six figures at least, probably close to a mil ticket. If he wins rights to his music he will have a huge bargaining chip to play with when negotiating with labels.

Yeah from facts CED is one dirty muhfucka thats why his label revival failed last year bc he fucked people over previously. He need to pay Raided more then any other artist from that label bc he needs the money more for his books to survive its not like he can just tour and recoup.
but he can ghost write for mass of these youngsters bc many need it. also I think he could make a good author and has alot of life stories to write a biography.
