I don't think dropping cluster bombs in civilian areas, hospitals, schools, private homes, etc., and writing it off as "collateral damage" is justifiable, imo, but regardless, it's on big Al's resume and certainly does not display a peaceful man in anyway.

I remember that some bombs by "mistake" fell over some of the neighboring countries too...

It wasn't fun for the people who got their home destroyed

and they had nothing to do with the conflict

The method of selection, laid down in the will of the billionaire inventor of dynamite, Alfred Nobel, ensures that the award will be a political decision reflecting a broad consensus in the European bourgeoisie. While the other Nobel prize winners are selected by committees of experts in the various fields, such as the Swedish Academy of Science, the recipient of the peace prize is picked by a committee chosen by the Norwegian parliament, its five members selected on the basis of party strength in that legislative body.

Does Al Gore deserve the prize for the AGW campaign?

Absolutely yes

Does he deserve it for his overall career? No


And out of the 6 Nobel prizes awarded each year, only the 3 scientific ones can be considered serious

The Pease prize is a political decision

The Literature prize is usually given to some obscure author that nobody reads and that will be forgotten in the future but is valued by the "critics"

The Economics prize is completely artificial as it was created in 1961 and if you think economists are real scientists or they contribute anything useful to mankind, you're seriously wrong

Statement by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Board of Trustees and President Bruce Stillman, Ph.D. Regarding Dr. Watson’s Comments in The Sunday Times on October 14, 2007


Earlier this evening, the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Board of Trustees decided to suspend the administrative responsibilities of Chancellor James D. Watson, Ph.D., pending further deliberation by the Board.

This action follows the Board’s public statement yesterday disagreeing with the comments attributed to Dr. Watson in the October 14, 2007 edition of The Sunday Times U.K.
