What's the point in trying to copyright a lifestyle? Rock'n'Roll ain't "black" music, thats pure idiocy. What about Ritchie Valens? He wasn't black, he was Mexican, yet he made a profit from Rock & Roll. What about Jackie Wilson? He was black, and he was huge in the 50's too. So did Elvis take attention from everybody else? Elvis was HARDLY rock & roll in the first place, dude was more like COUNTRY with a rock-ish twist.

Let's put shit into perspective here...when was segragation ended? When was the last year that blacks weren't allowed into certain night clubs? You wanna talk about basketball? When was the first black player allowed to play? Maybe Rock & Roll has been around for ever, and was first played by a Chinese man...whatever...I'm not speaking to "ownership" as Nitro put it...I'm simply stating a fact that Elvis took music that was not his, that was already being listened to in black clubs, and he proffited from it by bringing it to the white masses...I misstated by saying "Rock and Roll is black music.." I should have said "was."...Now, we can sing kumbye-fucking-ya if it'll make you feel better...

Some people consider elvis music as rock in roll. I don't. When people say rock&roll I think of metal. Heres a very informative site (since most of you like to read)

I myself am an advocate of metal/rap combos and often incorperate it in my music. I see no problems of doing such a thing. Will you catch me listening to A perfect circle, tool, metallica or velvet revolver 24-7? Nope. Only when I catch it on the radio or I need a REFERENCE CD.
I also agree with the being "gangsta" comment. To me gangsters own large corps, have large private planes, their money makes money for them, they have judges and the law on the pay roll etc etc etc.
