this is what ima do then...

i can think of some tight ones to do (for the RLK album) cuz i can picture a video to almost every song, i just dont wanna interupt the flow of the music.

so ima put out the first version with no skits at all, and a limited edition later on with a gang of skits. and ima call it the director's cut!!

THATS HAAAAARD!!!

some rappers be puttin skits on their albums to make the album look like it has more songs than it really has.the cold thing about it is they dont even call it a skit or nothing.they name it just just like it was a song on the album.bullshit ass skit that dont have nothing to do with the next song.

that sounds hella original but i dont think a gang a skits would really sell the directors cut without any new songs on there, if i were to buy a cd then a limited edition came out with just some more skits it wouldnt really make me go back to the store
i think you should just put like 2 coo skits on the album that acctually fit in..becuz too many skits makes the cd skipable (if thats even a word)

thats a good point.. i could drop it with like half new songs, a couple remixes, and a few skits and call it the director's cut. its gonna have to be able to kinda push itself tho cuz by the time i go doin all that ima be tryna push my solo shit... as long as the original version does well, the limited edition will sell itself.

If it's a CONCEPT album then yes, if the album plays like a movie with a beginning middle and end then It's good for the album's PLOT feel me. Season of the Sicc and Triggeration station are good examples. Also--->

Threat's SICKINAHEAD (if you never heard this you're dead, cuz sleep is the cousin of death, one of my top 10 AT). The Skits on this album are like a subplot to the whole CD.

Foe Life by Mack 10-every skit prefaces the song.
Death Certificate by Ice Cube, the skits explain the plot.

On some CD's like SPM's 'reveille park' or Twista's Adrenaline Rush the skits are cool cuz the Rapper Flows so hard u start to think thats ALL they do, and the skits kind of give light to where the rapper receives inspiration.

thats good game. like i was saying in an earlier comment, i can vividly picture a video concept for each of the songs on this album. and i placed the songs strategically... some songs follow the next for musical reasons, and some due to concept. i kept it short too (13 tracks). i didnt want to draw the experience out too much. i just wanted it to make a solid presence with the listeners. we'll see if my approach is successful this summer. im gonna go back thru it one more time before i call it a wrap and see if a skit is necessary.

this thread served it's purpose for me... good lookin out yall
