rickyl - that song is off his mixtape and his album is complete but needs some cleaning on the sound , it's coming out either way . appreciate checking him out . his album going to slap .

dirt e needlez - to answer your remarks or question my numbers there if you got any questions or something to get off your chest . 1 more time that guy who posting under that name is someone sitting on about 5 - 8 verses not even songs he was trying to cash out thinking raydastray was never going to drop anything ,but time's have changed , this is the first time i've ever posted on here , so that would mean i never said pain junkie's was a group.and we dont need anyone to invest in him, his talent will out shine anyone in the game , we respect a few artist and woulden't mind working with them but we ain't paying anyone . if you think any different about what i said if yu got any friends who rap , put your money up lets see who more talented , we here to take money not pay anyone raydastray bringing the music back to the fan's

"talent pays his way" aka he's not willing to spend any money to get decent quality or anything else that is necessary to be serious

You can't call yourself a bowler and then stand in the street rolling rocks until someone wants to give you free games and equipment

But at the same time though I would rather listen to that one track they posted in this thread than 90% of the bay area rap that people put money into. There's a million rappers "investing" in themselves and they're still garbage. I'd rather bump someone who is dope and records on their laptop than someone who is wack but gets their shit mixed by Mike Denten.

i agree. i never claimed that putting money into music makes it good music or makes the artist better than someone that doesnt. it's just a situation where if you don't respect the art enough to make it properly then why should people even respect you enough to take the time to listen, let alone support.

infantry just cause you dont want to pay someone does not mean you dont "respect the art" my homie take"s writting and his music very serious , a really dope artist allready told me my friend was dope . so were straight . it does not coast money to send a track to hometurf so do i owe kmel money to play his music ? the rap game is bad enough right now what ever happened to networking and making good music , we got our own equipment and studio we dont need hand out ,the bay area will allways be the way it is till people come together and make quality music , its every man for himself and thats why good artist are getting over looked by all these new artist and old artist are wearing skinny jeans .

infantry ive seen some of your videos you do good work keep up them videos

I would argue that you could respect the art and also not have the resources to make it polished. Anyone who does music for the love respects the art by definition. In many cases they respect the art more.

It's a lot of people growing weed or coming from rich families that got money to throw around and rap to be cool who respect the art way less than a rapper who's in the streets and is struggling just to put food on the table.... and works with what he's got even if he can't make it polished

I'm speaking more about the mentality of not wanting to pay anyone for the work they do, not just not being able to.

Putting in the time/energy/money to build up your quality is showing respect to the art, in my opinion. I know not everyone feels the same way, but that's just how i see it these days. It's frustrating to see people say they want people to support them and what they do but they aren't even willing to spend a few hundred dollars on their own project. That gets to be sad when they have no problem buying zips and bottles all the time.

Anyways, mini rant over lol. Since Da 80s, tell your homie good luck. It takes a long time in the bay area to get noticed, no matter how dope you are.
