SAN DIEGO -- A 16-year-old boy was shot in his buttocks Sunday in Oak Park, a sergeant said.
Officers responding to a shots fired call shortly before noon at the Fam- Mart store in the 1700 block of Euclid Avenue found no one at the scene, SDPD Sgt. Joe Molinoski said.
A short time later, Children's Hospital personnel called police to report a wounded youth in the emergency room, Molinoski said.
The wounded boy said he had been shot when running from a fight with several others in front of the store, Sgt. Rodney Vandiver said.
The boy was later transferred to another hospital, the sergeant said.
