Europe is locked stocked and loaded. Even more when Fedors management gives in and signs a contract. They know where they need to target counting Japan out was probably due to the fact that they was trying to get Pride doin Japan shows. From my understanding Mexico, Brazil, and Canada are all waiting patiently waiting in line. Give it some time with the recent signings of japanese and fighters japanese people know sooner or later they gonna be wanting to see a UFC event in Japan. More exposure doesnt hurt the sport at all....

I doubt that. They have only had ufc show in 2 european countries That is not locked and loaded. Even if they have some ufc shows in japan don't expect the shows to sellout. The japanese will show more support to Heros more.

I guess I saw something in those 2 Fights and soon to be a 3rd in Sept 8th that is a great sign for UFC Europe to solitify my words. Japan will sell out look at when any sports goes to japan, wether it be basketball, baseball, football, hell look at the buster douglas vs mike tyson fight.

What japanese fighter wouldnt pay money to see great fights in a cage?

By the time Shogun dominates the UFC which im guessing another 2 years, shogun is how old? That these shows in other countries are gonna be broadcast just as spike has been doing, soon to be HBO and various other stations jumping onto the MMA bandwagon global and yes even in Japan. Japan dont gotta show them on TV but ya betcha bottom chin hairs that they will be broadcasted over here in the states.

Take your analogy of things, if UFC wasnt a success then why are they continuing their campaign out there? I bet a nakamura vs shogun in the octogon will sell out japan. Money is everywhere and I know the country Japan, which isnt hurting money at all would love more foreigners come to their country....Remember this Out of the US ventured has been goin for howlong and how much countries are setting up meetings for UFC to come to their respected countries.

No it will not sellout in japan heck it did not even sellout in the 2 ufc europe show so how do you figure that. They had to buy their own tickets an comp people so fillout the arena. The HBO deal fell apart incase you did not know that. There not even campaigning out there in japan what are you talking about? Why would a japanese fighter pay to see a fight in the cage ? I guess you mean japanses mma fan.

Any fight promotion buys remaining tickets thats a no brainer thats marketing to those that wouldnt of think of goin to an MMA bout. And Im talking about the longrun, I aint talking about within a few months from now, the big picture that I saw 2yrs ago is happening before our very eyes. An empire doesnt become an empire overnight. A tree doesnt reach its heights unless its planted in the right soil....

You act as if MMA has been here for many years. And those fights ive seen in the UK when they say under a sellout crowd, I aint gonna go out of my way to find out if they really did or not.

Yes I meant to say what japanese mma fan instead of fighter. I dont reread what i write to make it seem super legit homie. And yes the Japanese will embrace more fighting to their region.

im a shogun fan regardless the outh outcome.. ill be the first to admit he looked bad in his ufc debut.. it seems all the pride fighters are getting huge hype and one fight ecspecially a loss ruins their image in the ufc.. i am willing to bet the next time we see shogun he will have more focus and drive than ever.. forrest outclassed shogun plain and simple, i thought shogun would murder him but it didnt happen but lets not count shogun out of the light heavyweight contenders yet

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua used to do 10 minute rounds with no problem, and he was breathing heavy at the 7:50 mark this fight and ready to give up. Same with Chuck... these guys forgot about conditioning!

I was at the fight and Rua looked PATHETIC (nothing like his fights in Pride- didn't even look like the same guy- not as aggressive, not as powerful). I like Rua in his old fights but that guy needs to hit the track...

Dude, apparently people are reporting Shogun suffered a life threatening injury in the fight. "Cerebral hematoma" Not a doctor but it's supposed to be bleeding in the brain. Just a couple reports so far tho, nothing official...

Well he did have a knot on his head I heard shogun is in pretty bad shape after that fight. One of the guys on sherdog said this: Unfortunately I have heard the same thing. From what I have heard this is SERIOUS. This is not B.S. I was on a plane this morning leaving Anaheim with a production assistant for the UFC. I do not have a personal relationship with him, nor do I know his name. He did inform me that Shogun is in bad shape and I mean BAD SHAPE. Let's just say from what I have heard, we all need to be seriously praying for him. I am thoroughly disturbed and am awaiting a public update from UFC officials. Sorry to add to the horrible news, but this is simply what I heard from a credible source. We all need to be praying for Mauricio and his family......
and here is the link to tha thread: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=647933
