I'm gonna turn 24 in a couple of months. My younger sister's gonna be 18. I remember when she was only 12 and now she's graduating highschool. I keep seeing her and everyone she goes to school with as little kids. I never felt old til I realized, damn, it's been 6 years since I graduated highschool, but it feels like it was only a couple years ago.

I was at a party once and Westside Connection's "Bow Down" came on, and some kid was like, "Wow, real old school song." I actually couldn't believe he said it. Old School, muthafucka? OLD SCHOOL?!!? To me, old school rap is shit like Kool Keith, De La Soul, and Run DMC.

TO me Old School rap is Grandmaster Flash, Sweet Tee, Toddy T, Kurtis Blow, LA Dream Team, SugarHill Gang, etc

I put the music channel "Hip Hop Classics" on my comcast while I was home from work for lunch. The channel is supposed to be the old school beginnings of hip hop. Granted it is a TV channel so I don't have too high of hopes, but still I expect to hear stuff like Run DMC or Erik B and Rakim
