STAMFORD, CT – Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President of Global Media, announced today he has tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2010.

Shane stated, “It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE® into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures.”

“Even though I am personally saddened by Shane’s decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made. He will unquestionably bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavor he pursues,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO.

wow, well he was always a big fan of MMA so maybe we might see him dip his hands into the business side of that, out of all the non wrestler/wrestlers he always put on the best matches

I dunno... Who the fuck is gonna get the company then? Vince isn't sticking around too much longer.

I was just talking the other day about how Vince should get into MMA.

Yeah I was kinda sayin the same thing. I think if Shane wanted to get into it, he'd know how to hype the shit properly. Personally though, I was a fan of the XFL and the idea behind it. Too many people called shenanigans when it was actually a pretty exciting game. I mean, the XFL was arena football before arena football was popular.

And the NY team was called the Hitmen, which was pretty badass.

Shane McMahon's departure is not a subject to be discussed backstage in WWE right now. Vince is not happy at all about Shane leaving, and essentially, Shane's leaving is taboo discussion, similar to talking about Randy Savage.
