woodie told us they were mastered wrong by koch records

he was gettin them back but who knows what happened

All i know is why does this new shadow sound so low volume?

I can't bump it or nothing. (even though those type of keyboard key tone beats never bump but still)

It sounds dope but i can't hear shit....

Same here. You can't put any songs on a mixtape because volume level was to low compared to all other cds. I thought the album sucked tho so wasn't really tripping.
Beats that sounded 15 years old. Woodie beats were way better then these. Imo

He didn’t want to have an Antioch sound? What is he going for then? It’s funny when some rappers try and switch their sound. A lot of times it doesn’t work and ends up hurting them in the long run. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I thought his lyrics were worse then they used to be. His flow was so smooth back in the day. All the cats that were on his album pretty much sucked, except A-wax obviously. His Arsenal Empire homies were subpar lyrically.

I just bought my copy off iTunes yesterday. I like that his production is different. We grow as humans so glad his beats did too. I dig it. I don’t notice it being low in quality though🤔I’ll have to give it a try in my vehicle to see if it does.

Artists want to experiment and take a different route / approach to keep THEMSELVES interested.

The art needs to feel fresh and challenging, and relevant to the moment they're living in, and therefore worth the time and money they spend.

Creativity is somewhat of fragile thing in that way. ESPECIALLY if it's not being constantly nurtured---artists will feel the need to do something drastic to "re-invent" themselves and get that feeling back that came naturally when they first started.

As fans, it's hard to sympathize with that. We feel insulted when our favorite rapper abandons all the things that made us fans in the first place.

I do think it has less to do with trying to gain a new audience/ being disloyal to the day 1's, and more to do with themselves as creative people.

That's the only way I can justify what happens to ALL OF my favorite rappers.

The beats to me didn't sound experimental at all. I thought they just sounded like average at best Norte produced music. I think he put out his album way to late in his rap career. To put out his first album at age 40 years is kinda crazy.

Ok that's one song. 90% of it was of the beats sounded old and were pretty weak. He took 20 years to come out with an album and it was average at best. B- Dawg and A-Wax are the exceptions but the rest of the features sucked.

I gotta disagree on that features thang the dudes he had from RI and MA were okay Lazie Locz Should strictly be doing the beats he is amazing in that aspect I think it's because you guys are just older and used to the Woodie type beats that shadow was rapping on back in the days Woodie was like Dr Dre level of beats while nowadays it's all computer work that does it

Shadow came correct. Nothing wrong with shadow on his story telling. He starts off on some songs (WEIRD)


Be patient. He comes correct on each song. I like almost every song. I wish there was more big features with lil raider more a wax cause he is diffferetnt.

SHadow or someone, can u get me a original copy cause the digital version is low audio. If this was good audio (Mastered better) it hit better in a stereo and sound better. It's trebled up like demonz n my sleep in 2000. I got the re release which iss louder but i need this in louder mode


I hate when artist do this... C murder did that in 08 on a album. It was low like this. I wonder why the record companies do it. Maybe shadow didn't have the money. Who knows.... I find that hard to believe thoguh. Artist be droppin records all day sounding fine....

Anyway great album shadow but keep us updatee on why the master is low. THx and props on a great album. I'm excited for the future

I don’t expect woodie beats at all. I expect dopeness because I’ve been waiting for an album from him since 2002. This is how I feel personally. I’m not gonna like his shit just cuz I’ve been waiting all these years and then he just drops some mediocre shit. if it’s wack, Ima keep it real.


On a similar note, I’ve been a fan of Wax’s music since 2001 and I’ve seen his shit evolve over the years; he may have switched up his flows and beats but, I feel that he’s only gotten better being “experimental” or however y’all say it.
