1.) This is just my opinion but when it comes to many Norteno Lables not too many of them are comming with talent or skill. To me it's just another Gangstah try'na rap about his life and it don't work for every Gangstah out there! Mean'n jus cuz u a Gangstah don't mean u can rap! On the other hand u have East Co. Co. Rec. I feel they are the most talented Norteno lable out. They have the skill, the beats and genuine talent as well as creativity in there music which is hard to find in most gangstah rap! I've heard many acts like DarkRoom and I'm sorry ta say this but Sir Dyno can't rap! He cant even stay on beat and his voice aint rap material to me! Dark Room needs alot of work before they push shit out! ALG is the only one I've felt so far. I also wasn't too impressed with Speedy Loc his sound is too raw at this point meaning needs work! I'm sure in thime these artist will polish up thier skills. I feel the Norteno Rap movement is undeveloped!

2.) A good artist should have real skill in the rap game. Charisma would help but if u got real skill it should ride it out. Skill speaks for it's self!

3.) I would love ta see a real Norteno make it big but nothing should change him or his previous style! Jus keep it real thas all! No geting soft and no bling bling shit! I would be down ta see Him collab with other known artists that keep it real, Like DMX or Kurupt or some other West Coast big name like Xzibit that'd be some shit! 1. JUJU B. & Kasper, East Co. Co. Records, Assassin, Low, J-Loc, back in the day I would have said Darkroom but not anymore. I haven't really listened to enough of the others to be judgemental. Big Oso I've only heard one of your songs and it impressed me. Speedy and his click have some tight music. The killa sharks and Crazy Times records have talent but it seems like its hit or miss with them. Sometimes they come way too tight but other times its just awful.

2. Like Lou-E-Lou said the most important thing to me is if the artist can touch me. Right now Wood speaks the most truth to me for a couple reasons. 1. he lost his sister(me too) 2. he lost his best friend(me too). 3. one of his closest homies is locked up( this was true as well up until about a year ago.) Voice and delivery are a must as well

3. If I liked the artist before he blew up, yes i would probably still support him even if he did switch up a little for radio play. 1. i think the main ones comin with some heat is east co co. that's the reason i spend so much time here in this room. sadly enough, it prolly won't make it on the radio too much for the reason that it is gangsta, blatanly"yoc life norte, fuck 13, catorce...." but that's why i listen to it. it was always cool to hear e-40, n2deep and stuff rep ca, but this was on another level and it hit really close to home. i support just about all norte stuff, but the one i listen to the most other than east co co is sir dyno. homeboy has heart and heat. the beats are not the greatest all the time, but he has heart. really tho, i can't think much of anyone who has any real skillz outside of the ones named here. there are plenty of people rappin that shouldn't be norteno or not, but some of those that are no talent ass clowns are sellin major units. i can't call it. woodie and lil los are the total package, that is it fo' real. i don't know how much lil los helps on the beats, but i think it is damn near a tie in this rap game between them two, hands down the best the rap game has to offer.

2. to me, i can't stand an artist that is one way on record and another in real life. like snoop. he talks so much stuff about 21 street and he don't even have respect from rips on that block. but, i have heard so many times that spice 1 ain't never been a gangsta but he has put out great music and if he never has been a G, then he is brilliant to say the things he has without seeing it live. i look at raw talent. delivery, what they talkin about, the ability to make you look at stuff different, the realizm, and sayin stuff you can relate to. messy marv does not have a good flow at all, but he is a game spitter. i feel alot of stuff he says. he said i used to take the cash from my mom's one night stands in this one song. i don't think a normal person will have said that or even thought of it without having done it. i love music that paints a visual picture that is burned there forever. i can't stand east coast music at all, i break mc's and spit hot flows on the mic na mean? i can't relate to em and when they come gangsta it is not believeable. 3. i know when you are removed from the hood and you worry about the material stuff, it makes the music soft. look at c-bo and master p. i commend p for holding on for a few more years. he kept it pretty damn gangsta for having all that money for a while before he sold out. i was a big fan of his stuff even though he had videos all over BET. but once he hit MTV, he changed. i think it is so hard for an artist not to change though to an extent, i mean, if you got a video on MTV, and it is crackin, they gonna want you on like TRL, and if you on a major, you put yourself at jeopardy to not show up. and when you get there, there are only like 15 year old girls, you gotta think, is it worth the money? i always told my homeboys and parents, if i ever do something with this rap music, i don't even wanna sell outside of california, that is my audience, that's who i am talkin to. that's just me. it was only important to me to get the respect from home, that's all. the material shit means nothing to me, especially after finding God, there are few things that matter in this world and i know that now. it will be hard to keep that level of respect i think with the homeboys if you get some major nationwide success because of this: when you have say, 2 major albums, sell like 3 million each. then, on your 3rd album you sell 500, 000, then on the fourth, you sell 300,000, you still have the love for the game, but that's where alot of people should hang it up or do some real soul searchin and say forget the critics and fans that weren't there to start and just "do you" all you can be is you, if people don't feel that, leave the game. i know this was long winded but it was a good post and topic. much respect OSO, good luck. we are your supporters here, i hope you take some of this to heart. stay up
