NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THE RATIO SOMEONE SAID THAT MEXICANS POPULATED EVERYTHING AND OTHER MINORITIES CAME IN SMALL CHUNKS THOUGH. HE'S OFF.
What I was saying was Mexicans are a bigger part of Eastern WA than blacks or Asians are of Western WA, just basically trying to reverse the notion that Eastern WA is a bunch of white people etc when in reality, Western WA is more white than Eastern WA (b/c the Mexican pop is so big over there).

That was just a sidenote, but it doesn't matter for the root of the original question, I love both sides of the mountains, just different vibes that's all.

does the weather get to you out there like it does in seattle?
The weather never got to me in Seattle and it never got to me in MPLS. In MPLS we had 13 straight days of below zero 24-7 a few years ago. Many more days of sunshine in MPLS, and the summer is hot&humid as hell. But who cares it's just weather.

I've been a lot of places, and the only places I'd voluntarily live other than Washington is Canada, or California. Just my thoughts though.

As far as the topic of this thread goes... I love Washington, well Western Washington. Their really is no better place on earth to live. I don't think I would want to live IN Seattle but within a half an hour in any direction.

Small towns, whatever. I'm just guessing but I'd say about 95% of E. Washington is Conservative due to the agriculture out here. All parts of E. Washington are pretty much red neck, with a few places that aren't. It's pretty much the opposite of Seattle and Western Washington...

like spokane huh

I live in Spokane and its

* 86.4% White
* 2.10% African American
* 1.8% Native American
* 2.2% Asian
* 0.2% Pacific Islander
* 0.9% from other races
* 3.0% Hispanic
* 3.4% two or more

In 2000 according to wiki

We are the only city in E. Washington that dont have a significant mexican population. 15.9% of the population and 11.1% of families were below the poverty line in Spokane and thats higher than Seattle so we are pretty white trash over here. Although right outside of Spokane in Airway heights which is like 12 percent black and 10 percent hispanic. I used to live in Seattle and it really is way different over here, especially if you Filipino like me.

isnt central seattle supposed to be bad and yarnall
The answer depends who you ask. Poverty & Crime in the Seattle area is far more dispersed & spread out than in most American cities, it really isn't concentrated in any one point to the extent that it is East of the Mississippi.
