Another little annoyance I have is the back to back 10:00am games. They have the early Saturday game at 1:00pm so I don't know why they don't have the same times on Sundays.

Anyways, I read a crazy ass stat that in the four 10:00am playoff games Seahawks have played over the past few years, they've scored ZERO points in the first half of all of those games and something like 86 points in the second half. That's crazy! Clearly these early games are in an issue which of course just stresses the importance of getting a top 1-2 seed. Regardless of that I hate early playoff games, never made much sense to me.

Russell Wilson will only continue to get better. Hopefully our offense evolves to one centered around Russell Wilson and attacking with the pass more.

Seahawks' Pete Carroll plans to put Russell Wilson through a football Master's program - Seattle Seahawks | 710 ESPN Seattle

Russell Wilson made some obvious leaps in his game in the 2015-16 season, specifically in the second half, but Pete Carroll plans to put the fourth-year quarterback through a Master's program of sorts to enhance his already solid grip of the game. He said on "The Pete Carroll Show" that they even set up a schedule on the airplane ride home from Sunday's season-ending loss to Carolina.

"We're going to really learn football this offseason," Carroll said. "We're going to go much deeper into different areas than what he's had to focus at. He was asking, 'How do you want to do that?' So we already set up a little schedule of how we'll do our stuff. I want to take him to the other side of the football and I want him to understand it to the lengths that will start him really owning the whole football game."

Carroll said this is the kind of learning that "the great ones" learn over the course of time.

"I want to accelerate the process for Russell; now he's ready," Carroll said. "He can command what we're doing on offense. He'll get better at all that stuff, too. But we need to just get him a better understanding of everything that's going on in the game. It's the same with Earl (Thomas). I talked to Earl about the exact same thing last night. I want him to understand the game more deeply. And Kam (Chancellor), and all those guys, to embrace all of the information that's out there to make them a better player."

Even though the Seahawks' 10-6 regular-season record was Seattle's worst since drafting Wilson, he set career highs in almost every important QB stat, including completions (329), completion percentage (68.1), yards (4,024), touchdowns (34 passing, 1 rushing) and QB rating (110.1). He did all that while still rushing for 553 yards.

While much of that success came during a historic stretch from Weeks 11 through 17, Carroll said Wilson's offseason contract extension was likely a factor in his growth.

"I think getting all the contract stuff behind him was really important," he said. "He turned right to the job at hand. There were no issues at all. I think he was really consistent with his approach, the way he came across, the results grew throughout the season. You can see we have a marvelous player and leader."

-----------

Maybe if we're lucky enough we can get Kurt Warner to stop by and give Wilson some tips..... lol

I believe we are gonna turn into the greatest show on turf v2. I see them targeting the wr core, cutting Kearse and adding a big name in free agency and also a gem in the draft. Lynch will be cut, Rawls will be back but the run won't be an emphasis as it was in the past

They wont let Kearse walk unless he wants money that he isnt worth...

Run will always be the emphasis by a PC team...that what he likes. It has been successful at USC and now Here... So dont expect to see an air raid offense anytime soon.

Pete was essentially saying they will be having a more complex passing game and that year five for Wilson is going into the next level, I guess they have stuff already planned for Wilson this off season to learn and evolve his game.

But I co-sign with Fuckery Mcfuckerson, it will still be a run first team. It's just the passing game will be more exotic, more evolved.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson 'going to school' this offseason

At age 27, Russell Wilson just delivered his finest season as an NFL quarterback.

He led the league in passer rating (110.1), set career highs in both completion percentage (68.1) and yards per attempt (8.3), and operated from the pocket better than he ever has. Wilson will be entering his fifth season in 2016. Now it's time for him to go to school, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

"Russell and I talked about this last night," Carroll said Monday. "I think this is really the right time to really turn his focus and broaden his awareness of what is going on in the game overall. And so he and I will spend a lot of time this offseason introducing him to the perspective of what it’s like to look at the defense from the defensive side of the ball. I want him to learn and understand what is going on schematically, rotation-wise, fits-wise even more than he knows now."

The plan will be the same for safety Earl Thomas on the other side of the ball.

"We are going to school, and it will be a tremendous offseason for those guys," Carroll said. "And they are ready for that."

The biggest positive to come from the 2015 season for the Seahawks was Wilson's continued growth. He was coming off probably the most devastating interception in Super Bowl history. His contract was one of the biggest stories of the offseason, leaguewide. And after the team started 2-4, there were questions about whether Wilson was progressing at the appropriate rate.

But down the stretch, he went on a tear, throwing 24 touchdowns against one interception in the final seven games. As Marshawn Lynch, Jimmy Graham and Thomas Rawls went down with injuries, Wilson continued to perform, leading the team to a 10-6 record.

Coaches and players don't like to talk about ceilings, but the projection of what Wilson can become is greater now than it was a year ago. That's because he just posted the highest passer rating on throws from the pocket of any quarterback in the past three years. Wilson was already impressive after his first three seasons, but now he's even more difficult to defend.

"Couldn’t be more excited about it, really," Carroll said.

"We can go down the field if we have to. We can throw the ball really quick and do all kinds of stuff. Russell showed all of the things that we would hope to see in really consistent fashion this year."

Added Wilson, "We had an opportunity to do something really, really special, and we came up just a little bit short. It’s a little bit disappointing, but at the same time you look forward to the next opportunity."

It's tough to really tell analytically what kind of progress a quarterback is making in terms of reading defenses. But one area where Wilson improved this season was against the blitz. In the final seven games, his 137.0 passer rating against five rushers or more was tops in the league.

Now the goal will be to get even better for a longer period of time. Again, the goal is to become as difficult as possible to defend.

"I think the first step is the knowledge," Wilson said Monday. "You want to continue to grow intellectually and master that part of it. Continue to work on that craft. I think that when you really mentally grasp the game of football, the game really, really slows down. And that’s what was able to happen this year especially."

Added Carroll, "There’s a difference in looking at it for what the offense needs to know and from what the defense is doing. I want them to understand the other side in even greater depth. ... You can only take in so much. We wouldn’t want to water down the process by trying to do too much, but I think it’s time now."

Looking at the teams who were true contenders this season, it's clear there are haves and have-nots when it comes to their quarterbacks.

With Wilson continuing to grow, the Seahawks look like they should be able to compete for Super Bowls for years to come.

"We’re still young. We’re still really, really young," Wilson said. "That’s a scary thing."

If Seattle had home field advantage there in the bowl, they know it, there coach knows it, but having to fight out every game for home field advantage is tiring, or you run away with it, and players lose focus and you get bounced in the first round, people gonna forget about the seahawks, and thats when there dangerous, you let down any point they will embarrass you, how they murdered the 2012 niners, nobody was touching that team in the link that year.

Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin is willing to give Seattle a hometown discount; WR Jermaine Kearse - from Seattle - is not. "I love my hometown, but I’ve put in too much hard work to give a discount,” Kearse texted. “My number one priority is to take care of my family’s future, so I will consider all opportunities.”

I hope Kearse gets a good deal somewhere. This is probably his one real chance to maximize his earning potential so he shouldn't be giving any discounts, and he's a good dude so that would be great for him. Idk how much the NFL would give the Seahawks #3 receiver though, I think he's probably worth more in Seattle than anywhere else but we'll see. I think all Hawks fans cheer for the guy and if he gets a bigger offer elsewhere most everyone will be happy for him.

You don't like Lynch? Great player. I guess I wouldn't like him either considering the big games he had on the niners. He's a likeable player though.

Great career in Seattle. I hope he retires he's sacrificed his body game after game, that shit adds up. I'm sure he could easily find another team to play for but he probably doesn't have the motivation for all that, plus it's always sad to see old RBs try to push out another season or two, usually ending up as a role player and only get a few touches a game, I can't see Lynch being that guy.

With that said super stoked for Rawls next year. His style is like Lynch in many ways.
