Browner and Thurmond got popped for Non-PEDs (not steroids).

I know Seattle is the punch line for drugs but they've had 7 people popped for drugs since 2011 denver has 6 and a bunch of teams with 5 so it's not like they are leaps and bounds a head of other teams plus half those guys arent on the team anymore and a couple I never even heard of, like practice squad guys.

Browner is an idiot though since he has multiple offenses and he's done as a Seahawk surely.

Seahawks fans to attempt new noise record on ‘MNF’

Seahawks fans will get a chance to reclaim their title as the world’s loudest sports fans during Monday’s big game against the New Orleans Saints at CenturyLink Field.

The 12th Man set a Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at an open-air sports stadium Sept. 15, when the Seahawks demolished the rival 49ers 29-3 at the CLink in the second game of the season. But just a month later, on Oct. 13, fans in Kansas City broke Seattle’s record of 136.6 decibels during the Chiefs’ 26-17 victory over the Oakland Raiders, reaching a new high mark of 137.76 decibels.

Almost immediately after Chiefs fans grabbed the title, the man who organized Seattle’s record attempt, Joe Tafoya, began hearing from hundreds of Seahawks fans: We’ve got to try again! The 12th Man truly is the loudest! Those Chiefs fans cheated!

And, almost immediately, the best date to try again seemed obvious: The Seahawks’ “Monday Night Football” game Dec. 2 against the powerhouse Saints.

While the excitement and fervor among Seahawks fans seemed to reach insurmountable heights in September, when the much-hyped Hawks hosted their NFC West foes from the Bay Area, the anticipation for Monday’s matchup is even greater. The primetime game on national television will feature the NFL-best, 10-1 Seahawks battling the NFC’s second-best Saints for the No. 1 playoff seed and home-field advantage in the postseason.

“I hope that they leave no doubt in anyone’s mind that the road to the Super Bowl has to come through CenturyLink Field,” said Tafoya, who is a former Seahawks defensive lineman. “No doubt.”

The last time quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints were in town, Seahawks fans triggered a “Beastquake” under the CLink. This time, Tafoya hopes the 12th Man will once again redefine what it means to be a passionate football fanbase.

After hearing overwhelming support from Seattle fans for a another try at the record, Tafoya has gotten Guinness World Records and the Seahawks organization back on board for a second attempt. Like last time, Guinness will send an official adjudicator to Seattle to measure the crowd’s decibel level throughout Monday’s game.

On Wednesday, Tafoya joined audio engineers in surveying Seattle’s stadium for the best acoustical spot to place sound equipment. Yet unlike in Kansas City, where fans were directed by Arrowhead Stadium’s big screens to cheer louder for the record, the 12th Man’s second attempt will remain organic.

Just like last time, if Seahawks fans set a new noise record Monday, they’ll do it without being prompted.

“The energy and excitement in the stands is what I really hope to see coming out and being projected down to the field,” Tafoya told seattlepi.com Wednesday. “What I’m envisioning is a situation where Drew Brees has to cover his ear-holes or huddle closer or make adjustments because he can’t hear. When that happens, we’re affecting the game.”

Tafoya said his planning group, Volume 12, has heard from many Seahawks fans who are planning to join the attempt even though they don’t have tickets to the game. He’s expecting lots of fans to be screaming from the parking lot.

That is just one example of what Tafoya said seems like unprecedented excitement among Seattle fans for their red-hot football team.

"You look around the city and you see the ’12′ banner hanging everywhere,” Tafoya said. “People are taking it more seriously than they ever have before. They really see it as a ‘Super Bowl or bust’ mentality.”

What’s perhaps most special, Tafoya said, is that Seahawks fans feel they are participating in the game, directly helping out their team, when the Hawks play at CenturyLink Field. After all, the stadium has become known as the toughest venue to visit in the NFL.

He hopes that on Monday, when Seahawks fans try to break Kansas City’s 137.76-decibel record, the 12th Man can show the entire nation on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” just how rabidly they cheer for their boys in green and blue — even through potential snowfall. With more than 68,000 people yelling at the top of their lungs, the CLink will be rocking Monday night.

“The guy standing next to you is screaming his head off — how can you just stand there?” Tafoya said. “Everybody in the stands can feed off each other.”

Saints vs Seahawks Monday Night Football: Seattle's Defense Struggling?

The New Orleans Saints face a tough and scary opponent on Monday night in Seattle when our boys line up against a 10-1 Seattle Seahawks team. There are plenty of reasons to be nervous about this one. This team is the only one loss team in the NFL. To be the man, you have to beat the man right?

The Seattle Seahawks may very well be "the man" at this point. They have taken care of business on the football field, only losing to the Indianapolis Colts on the road by 6 points. But I think it's safe to say that the Seahawks have yet to face a foe quite like the Saints and I question if they are ready for what they are about to see on Monday night.

Drew Brees vs. the Seahawks Secondary:
Hey, these guys have been awesome over the past couple of years, right? But unfortunately for them, they will be without Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond. (drugs are bad, mmkay?) While the Seahawks are second in the NFL against the pass, take a peek at who the opposing QBs have been, followed by their ranking in total passing yardage..

Cam Newton (18th), Colin Kaepernick (22nd), Chad Henne (21st). Matt Schaub (25th), Andrew Luck (15th), Ryan Fitzpatrick (32nd), Kellen Clemens (38th), Mike Glennon (24th), Matt Ryan (5th, while his team is self destructing), and the Christian Ponder (27th)/Matt Cassel (42nd) duo.

Yes. The scary Seahawks secondary has defeated ONE TOP 16 QUARTERBACK in 11 games. And that one guy (Matt Ryan) was without his top wide receiver and his hall of fame tight end was fighting through injury.

So is the Seahawks secondary, without two of their top three cornerbacks, ready to contend with record breaking quarterback Drew Brees and the passing offense that even a rather healthy 49er defense could not shut down for less than 300 yards? Richard Sherman can not cover everyone.

Saints Improved Rushing Attack vs Seahawks Struggling Run Defense:
If the Saints can find a way to take advantage of this, the Seahawks may be in for a long Monday night. While the Seahawks may be 16th against the run this season, it is good to know that Seattle has allowed 601 rushing yards (which is 48.3% of rushing yards allowed FOR THE SEASON) in the past 4 games, which includes a combined 405 rushing yards allowed to the Rams and the Bucs. This is a defense that has recently allowed Mike James to gain 158 yards on the ground, while rookie Zac Stacy rushed for 134 yards of his own. This is hardly a sign of a dominant rush defense. Considering the fact that the Saints have outrushed their opponents in the past 3 weeks, it's pretty safe to assume that the Saints will accept the challenge from a run defense that seems to be struggling for the past month.

But The Seahawks Have Marshawn Lynch...
True, you are correct. But the 49ers had Frank Gore too. And the Saints allowed the 3rd fewest total yards of the season against him. Keep in mind, Chris freaking Ivory had 139 yards rushing against the Saints. Gore had 48 rushing yards. As a matter of fact, since Ivory ran wild on the Saints, New Orleans have outrushed their opponents for three straight weeks. If this happens for a fourth week in a row, the Saints cruise to a win.

***

So how scary are the Seahawks at home? Well, when Seattle plays at home, Russell Wilson has never been defeated as a starter. However, the Saints have won 6 straight on Monday night, with the last loss being by 3 to the Minnesota Vikings in 2008. Since Coach Payton was hired in 2006, the Saints are 9-2 on Monday night, so be ready for Drew Brees and company to be fired up. Sure, the Seahawks are coming off of a bye. But will they be ready for what is arguably the hottest team in the NFC? If they are, their defense better be expected to play better than it has the past 4 weeks or else the Saints will make them pay.

Will the Saints improved rushing attack be able to do what inferior opponents have to the Seahawks for the past 4 weeks or will Drew have to beat the Seahawks through the air? To start the season, I didn't like the Saints' chances, but considering the circumstances, the Saints do have a great opportunity to take out this team and control its own destiny.

it isnt pete carrolls job to babysit a bunch of grown men.

he preaches competition, which is motivational and all that, but the core of that is just being ready for any one to go down at any time and having someone hungry to take their place.

its impossible to babysit all those people, and im glad he doesn't get too wrapped up in it. hes staying focused on winning and keeping everything going forward. being distracted by media bullshit is not what hes focused on, its staying ready for the saints then niners. does he know what ppl are doing? probably not, but hes not naive. its the nfl, the dirtiest sport there is, full of coke and steroid abusers and drunks and rapists and woman beaters and gun toting drug peddlers and murderers... so its not like most of these guys are straight laced role models anyway. they fuck up their opportunity, too bad, next man up

It kinda is the coaches job to babysit. They give them curfews, do bed checks, try and make sure they keep their noses clean, and I'm sure in most cases offer advice in their personal lives away from the game. I'm not sayin they hold their hands across the street, but they keep an eye on them.

i thought there was other ppl that did that, like assistants and nutritionists and trainers and shit

anyway most people dont realise it but the seahawks are still rebuilding and not a complete team yet. carroll is always focused on finding new players and developing players. he and schneider are trying to build a dynasty here. i know hes getting heat and pundits and journalists want him to lay down the law, but its a distraction and id rather he keeps doing what hes doing. let the bad apples root themselves out. this team might end up being legendary in the next few years, if a grown man would rather get high or breach his player agreement, see ya, next man up. this isnt baseball where theres emotional attachment to players and theyre almost always positive role models, players are mostly just disposable thugs lol
