.261 ave. + anything = not a star
come on man, youre talking about one of the best first baseman in baseball. his defensive skills will win him a gold glove either this year or in years to come. also he was hitting over 300 at the all star break, played in every single game since the season started and hit a fatigue induced slump. honest ? for you, have you ever seen him play or seen any other stats or did you just look at the low avg. and call him a non star?

^^ are you sure thats accurate?

i never thought of him as a GG'er. oh well maybe i was worng.

the strongest impression i remember of gonzalez was that he was a "monetary pick" as the overall #1 a few years back and was traded from FL to TX before landing in SD. Baseball America, if i remember correctly called him the lowest cieling #1 in a while, and a "safe, cheap pick"

it's a fact...he is nowhere near superstar status right now,so whatever emotional tie,or the fact you washed his car once means nathaniel to me.he's actually one of my favorite players to watch(ive seen 4-5 games)and has one of the nicest swings in baseball.he collapsed waaaaay before the break, probably early june in all reality.so take off your blinders and watch reality....until he gets some protection in that line-up...he will put up "decent" numbers.how'd he do in the all-star game?lol@hater..

No emotional tie at all, just making sure your up on game before you talk down on someone, as i thought you havent watched him enough. 4-5 games? are you serious, anyway you are right about one thing he does have one of the sweetest swings in the game as yes he will be a gold glover one day. the fact that youre admitting he needs protection in the line up is pretty much saying other teams are keying on him, thus the title of the thread "padres star" no one said superstar, just padres star.....

what does you pointing out that "he's not a superstar" have ANYTHING to do with the fact that he's getting death threats.ill answer it for you since you some how dont have any common sense, absolutly NOTHING.

your only post before this didnt add anything to the discussion, just some ".261 ave + anything=not a star".I dont know where your from homie but down in here in Cali you'd be marked as a hater, sorry just calling em how i see em
