Austin, Texas
University of Texas at Austin Tower Massacre. In all Whitman killed 15 people and wounded 31 others before he was shot dead by Austin police. (Some accounts allege 16 or 17 victims, citing a later suicide stemming from the attacks, and a pregnant woman who subsequently miscarried.) At autopsy, Whitman was found to have suffered from a brain tumor affecting the limbic system.

Edward Charles Allaway, a custodian at the Cal State Fullerton library, shot nine people in the basement and first floor of the library with a .22-caliber rifle. Seven of the nine wounded victims died.

Patrick Edward Purdy opened fire on the Cleveland Elementary School playground with a Chinese-made semi-automatic rifle, similar to the AK-47, killing five children and wounding twenty-nine others and a teacher.

Gang Lu, on Friday 1-Nov-1991, using a .38 caliber revolver and also carrying a .22 caliber handgun, he shot five people to death, seriously wounded another, and then committed suicide in what is sometimes called the Gang Lu Massacre.

Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, had plotted for a year to kill at least 500 and blow up their school. At the end of their hour-long rampage, they turned their guns on themselves.

Nine Mile Falls, Washington
A 16-year-old male high school junior shot himself in the head and later died in an act of suicide committed at the high school's entryway around 1:20pm during a school day. The school was placed in lockdown and students were later released. A canister holding fireworks, shotgun shells, and rifle cartridges was found in a backpack belonging to the student around 3:30pm.
