the age old question when OT... "yall niggas in San Diego... must be nice, aint that where Nick Cannon from?" a lot of people been put up on game though, especially if you meet other people from the west OT. yeah shit might look grimy in other parts of the country compared to So Cal hoods (lived in the midwest for a while), but to me still california gang mentality is more dangerous to the average joe than a fuckin abandoned building somewhere...
Being born in Southeast San Diego, these type of things happen all around me. I played Pop Warner football for the Valencia Park Hornets, and when we played the Skyline Tigers, gang members would start fights at the park and even start shooting. It’s not that you can’t escape the negative things that go on in San Diego, it’s the fact that they happen often. A lot of people who are tourists don’t see it.

I played for skyline when it was like that..My dad is a older nigga from da east one time after my football game at the park this dude pulled out a shank on my pops in front everybody kids and all. 1 in the afternoon i was only 10 so i was scared an shit.. as i got older pops told me he was wet and mad at em cuz he didn't wanna give em a ride somewhere. shits changed a lot. Them skyline and vp games was a trip to. shit they had to stop our practices cuz of drivebys. it aint as bad know as it used to be though

Funny shit....me and like 3 other homies got an apartment when I was in the navy back in 2003....4 white 21 year olds....found a spot on the internet....signed a year lease for a 4 bedroom 1200 month...

to be honest I loved it there.....never had any problems...we used to get rowdy with the house parties...noone ever complained....the little kids in the complex would take our trash to the dumpster for $5........that taco shop near Imperial and Euclid is Serious...
and I NEVER saw shit pop off...only trouble I ran into was a small misunderstanding with some dudes at the American Legion on 47th...which got smotth out quick and we actually ended up being cool...
not saying it ain't real over there....just that if you carry yourself correctly noone will fuck with you..

HUNTERS POINT IS REALLY A SHIPYARD AND THE PROJECTS THAT ARE THERE NOW WERE MILITARY BARRACKS & THE AREA IS POLLUTED FROM ALL THE SHIP TOXICS FROM BACK IN THE DAY & ALSO ALAMEDA A.F. one thing i learned its really about how you carry yourself. when i left san diego i went into alot of bad areas in sf, hunters point and tl, walked through west oakland before i knew there was supposed to be something afraid of, you grew up in the hood the hood still loves you when you go out of town

The way an area looks, grimy and beat up with abandoned lots and broken down buildings is not the thing to worry about, it's the crazy-ass, don't-give-a-fuck type of people that live in those areas that you have to watch out for.

^ true... some might not consider east dago anthing past 54th though, while some say east dago stretches all the way to la mesa, i've heard both... the city actually has a whole bunch of neighborhoods in the east dago area like darnall,city heights west/east, azalea park, colina del sol etc., but you know niggaz dont care we just bunch everything up
