The SAN DIEGO MUSIC AWARDS ARE FULL OF SHIT. YOU SHOULD SEE WHO THEY NOMINATED FOR BEST HIP HOP ARTIST/GROUP THIS YEAR. WHO IN THE "FUCK" IS Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra???????? I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYBODY KNOCKIN Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra OR HEARD THE RADIO BUMP DAT SHIT ON THE RADIO...... IF YOU LOOK AT HISTORY OF THE HIP HOP CATEGORY MR. Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra HAS WON FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. WHO IN THE HELL IS PICKING THESE GROUPS? DO THEY JUST ACCEPT ANYBODY WHO SUMITS A RECORD TO THEM? I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST GROUPS LIKE South Psycho Cide,Icons,AND Deep Rooted I HAVE SEEN THESE DUDES PUT IN SOME WORK OVER THE YEARS. BUT WHATS DA DEAL WITH:

1."MC Flow"(never heard of them)
2."Alfred Howard & the K23 Orchestra"(never heard of them)
3."The KneeHighs -Global Warming" (never heard of them)
4."Defamation League"(never heard of them)
5. "Pearl -Can You Feel It"(she's a latin r&b singer) what is she doing under the hip hop category?

next, everybody knows on this board that the SDMA's is a bunch of bullshit homie.how could you not put artists on there nobody has heard of?


besides the homies South Psycho Cide, and Icons,and Deep Rooted i have never heard any body bump those other artist.and Mitch not even nomitnated?!?!

There needs to be an overthrow of the judges and whoever organizes the hip hop section cause they sound like some squares!

we will never be nominated because we speak in whats goin on out her ein these streets, and the politicians don't wanna hear dat shit..or expose it to a wider audience, they scared that it will hurt daygo's image of being america's finest city..its a conspiracy out here against rap with these politicians...

100% True!!!!!! SDMA is the local music industry!!!

So thats why their politically biased!!!

...& fyi, Alfred Howard & K23 orchestra isnt even hip-hop!!!

Their actually a Jazz/Soul/Trip-Hop band, he doesnt even rap at all!!!

He even confirmed on one issue of the Reader in the same article speaking on the SDMA rep for hip-hop, Lil One spoke heavily on it, about how their rep for the local hip-hop scene & the nominations is a complete embarrassment!!!
Lil One didnt even heard of those other groups who were nominated!!!
He insisted that somethin has to be done in order for this to be rectified!!!

Seriously though!!! Everyone else here is more or less pissed bout this situation, however in order for all that to be rectified, it's gonna be complicated to deal with the people running this organization so otherwise, only time will tell??????

That k23 dude was even sayin in the Readers BLURT that he doesnt consider himself Hip Hop or Rap.And that awards show is heavily promoted thru that City Beat magazine who claims they dont receive any local Rap Music for review other than the Icons, Deep Rooted etc..

I dont understand why anyone is even making this an issue...besides principles....Fuck san diego...(nOt the city..) this small way of thinking is whats holding back the san diego rap scene.......Outside of dago aint no one care about dago....they feel the music...wich is what its all about.....not the city.This is fighting over crumbs......is this award gonna be mentioned in xxl or source? No...this is like complaining that Fam Mart wont carry your C.D.....Its a big world out here...I mean no dis respect to dago..i got love for yall...but this endless cycle of bad business,and fighting over crumbs is pointless.
Sure it would be nice to be recognized,but you have to be recognized from a reputable source to meaan anything.
thats like starting up your own boxing council...the SDBC. those who hold titles in the weight classes wont be recognized outside of dago..where it really counts....
Also if anyone really is upset...start your own awards, involve those that matter,or are actively involved in the rap scene..

I aint heard you on the radio in L.A. and thats only about 2 hours away...so why dont local sundays count as far as local recognition cause thats what you talking about right?

I dont vouch for anyone in dago no one is doing it at the big level....but I have heard mitchy on the radio out here...

I made a few points rasan.....but a city as divided as dago is never good for business..it just drives it all away....and to be fair i checked out deep rooted and sure we aint heard of them but that should still take nothing away from them...they are talented and have some good music....and It isnt there fault as far as whatever unfair politics may or may not be involved...I dont think anyone on this site would turn down the award
