Early this morning Royce da 5’9” was greeted by Mike B, co-owner of M.I.C. Records, as he was released by Trusty Camp on work release.
“We put in a motion to the judge and she decided to give him work release,” Kino, his manager, told HipHopGame. “It was a pretty simple process. The next thing we’re doing now is officially finishing the album.”
The Bar Exam, Royce’s mixtape with DJ Premier and DJ Statik Selektah, is the next move for the M.I.C. camp. “The mixtape is officially done and there will be a new DJ Premier record,” Kino said. “That will be the A-Side of his new single and the B-Side will be 'Ding.'
We’re all excited about Royce being released,” Kino said. “Plus Royce just had his second son.”
Upon getting out of prison, Royce headed straight to the studio to work on his music. The Bar Exam will be released at the end of January. The Bar Exam will be followed up by a mixtape, as of now untitled, with DJ G-Spot.
