Roy would still whoop Hopkins like he did back in the day.
Not to cause much of a debate here, but Roy didn't whoop Hopkins. The fight was actually very boring and neither fighter landed any significant punches. Jones being the more active of the two so he wins on points. I think it was 116-112 across the board (in other words, 2 round difference).
To put the fight more in context a little, it was the first real fight for both fighters at that point in their young careers (Jones 22-0, Hopkins 22-1). Both fighters appeared very nervous and unwilling to take many chances in the ring, which resulted in a very defensive match with low punch totals.
I do think Jones was the better fighter at that point in time. Jones was close to being in his prime, if not in his prime, whereas Hopkins still had a long ways to go before he reached his peak. Both fighters I think learned a lot from that fight.
Also, Jones had a long amateur career (121-13) and fought in the Olympics, whereas Hopkins during that time of his life was serving 5 years in prison. Hopkins basically learned most of his skills as a pro, whereas Jones had the luxury of learning the ropes as an amateur, so Hopkins blossomed much later in his career.
