Just let me say from the KMEL family..RIP Mac Dre.. man.. personally..I been a fan since Too Hard n CA Livin.. its really hard to see another BAY LEGEND go down.

Im gonna make a tribute mix to play tonight, and I know all Dre's hits, and I have my own favorites..but anyone got any personal fav's of Dre? post up some of your favorite album cuts. I wanna make sure dre is repped right. thank you

I think people mis-use these types of posts. A human life is gone. One in many, with many more to go. Life is short and that is not a cliche.

Dre was a good dude, outside of music. I have alot of friends and family right now that are really hurt beucase its more than rap to them.

Let the circus begin...every rapper who ever had a Mac Dre verse will attempt to capitalize on this. Its a sad day.

Along with Short, and 40, Dre was one of the originators of how we all eat in the indie rap game. We all should be donating money to his fam or a museum or something.

Details are still coming in. Some of the other people in the car were also hit. We don’t know their condition at this point but as of right now Mac Dre was the only one killed.

Yeah just got off the phone wit my partner in KC and from the THIZZ camp, man every1 that knows me knows im the biggest DRE fan around, i will truly miss him! Great personality and a damn good rapper to me the BEST EVER FROM THE BAY! SAD FUCKIN DAY

fuck...this is probably worse for me than hearing about Pac as ive been a fan of mac dre for many years..and even tho i didnt know him i feel like i did thru all his music...and i never got around to seeing him in concert..this is a terrible thing to hear just waking up.....RIP Mac Dre soebody gotta keep the bay alive and i know they gonna ride in your memory...much love

I have been on the phone nonstop, and checking the net and listening to the radio, this is truly a sad day, what a loss to the world itself, condolences go out first and foremost to the Hicks family and Andre's closest friends, what a loss of talent to the music community, this man was a true pioneer, like 12 said, he helped start this thing we all know and love, we're talking about all the way back to the 80's, what a loss to the Bay Area, this man had finally gotten his life and everything together and he was bigger than ever, I truly realized how much his fans love him after seeing him perform at Mission Rock recently, the crowd was moving so hard if you didn't move with them you would have gotten trampled, that's love, that's crowd control.

Until we truly know the details, or even if we never do, please don't keep spreading different rumors or inventing new ones about this situation. Just be the fans that we truly are, play Mac Dre's music and remember the talent that will never be forgotten, and also don't forget that this is not just a music loss, this is a loss of a human life, a tragedy. RIP Andre Hicks AKA MAC DRE
